This link has 10 pages of current manager coaches without a job https://www.transfermarkt.com/trainer/verfuegbaretrainer/statistik There are some great names who have performed very well for lower clubs and big ones who are looking for a job, there are a few who i think we would have been talking to, so the ones who caught my eye are Lucian Favre Frank de Boer Mark van Bommel Jurgen Klinsmann Sam Allardyce Albert Celades
wow good coach but a thieving barsteward another Arry Red scratch him and pick another, who would be your picks Norton
do we want to go cheap or bags of experience ? Who would be your choices from the link list mate there are some names on there we have no chance of but some cracking managers from clubs who pay around the same as L1 or lower Championship wages.
The funny thing is mate I reckon some fans would accept them with open arms, and forgive them crap form, because they are big names. I reckon if Allardyce were in charge (shudder) and he lost games there would not be a clamour to get rid. I wouldnt have any. But I am a Johnson in fella so ignore me...
I wouldn't be against him to be honest, Rog! Difficult question that one, isn't it. My preference would be for someone who likes playing good, passing football but who knows how to change things up when needs be. When we were in the Prem I would have liked someone like Christoph Galtier but he'd not come here with us in League 1. Having said all that, I quite like what Urs Fischer has done at Union Berlin being quite direct. Maybe a more realistic option would be someone like Nathan Jones at Luton. Mark Bonner at Cambridge Utd is worth keeping an eye on too.
why would i ignore you, always liked your input and still do, you make some very good points i was interested if the management get rid, who the fans would like in LJ place if it happens
Bolo Zenden is coaching at PSV. I wonder if he'd fancy a crack at it. The set up would probably be quite familiar to him, being used to Dutch football.
If he gets peddled (and I don't think he will btw) then we won't be going for an Allardyce/Warnock/Wilder old school style 'Manager' who wants total control over all aspects of the club. It will more likely be a younger coach who fits in with the way Speakman and KLD want us to play so that the turnover of players is minimised. I still think he will see this season out and more than likely be in charge for the start of next season, the changes throughout the whole club have been massive and they need more time than 3, albeit very rank, performances before a snap decision is made. (Tin hat on and all that, as last season he had Parky's team to work with)
If I had a choice I would take Appleton from Lincoln. I really liked Russell Martin when he was down here but he is getting Swansea going. Left field shout but the fella at Harrogate (has worked miracles), Weaver I think, but I doubt he is on a radar.
I would not have a clue about next coach, everyone i think would be a good fit turn out not so good. i agree with your thoughts though, this 'data driven philosophy' type approach will more likely be a younger coach's style rather than the old style growlers...considering also we were in the main prepared not to get promotion this season as we accepted this was an entirely new approach that would most likely need time so i am not crying for a change yet but we need to see something change after recent performances. i also feel our good start gave us a bit of a false sense of 'this is it we gonna walk it' and now the reality is setting in...this is never an easy league to escape from.
Oh yeah. Simon Weaver is a good shout. Have you seen that BT Sport documentary that follows him and a couple of other people? I think Harrogate is a bit of a family operation (his dad is chairman or something) so it would be interesting to see what would happen if he was at a different club.
You may well be right mate, but if he is 'streaky' as some have said, then we should win the next 10...... shouldn't we
