Like her, loathe her, whatever - she's the voice of youngsters who are gonna inherit the world - the politics behind her, leading her, financing her is moot and not for here or we'll end up closing the thread. Bottom line, Global warming's real and those that can do something about it aren't . My final word on it.

It's quite damning if an uneducated girl who should be getting professional help for her condition is the best they media can find as the voice of youth, especially when there are far better youths out there that actually understand the topic.

Please stop trying to conflate comments about her with someone being a denier, it's lazy and disingenuous.

I wish I was uneducated enough to speak Swedish, or any other language, as well as she speaks English. :emoticon-0100-smile

That's just lazy.

She's been rolled out in a way that means pointing out she's uneducated and spouting a fair amount of scripted crap to prevent people challenging some of the abuses of science to push measures that are quite likely to change one problem for another, is viewed as bullying a damaged little girl.

.It's intellectual cowardice on the part of those behind her.

It's not being a denialist, it's quite the opposite.
Shell have literally paid militia's to kill activists in Africa. Not really the same, is it?

And trying to conflate those two points is even lazier than the previous comments I responded too.

Seriously, if people want to discuss the issues and support it with science, that's fine, but twee, needlessly defensive comments such as those simply show that people really don't know what's going on, which makes the thread pointless.

I'm saying that even if she is backed, the biggest cover up on Earth is happening from those on the opposing side. It's not twee. The head of Shell neither denied it or sued for slander. Sounds like you're clueless to me.

The fact you haven't picked up on what I actually posted, preferring your own peculiar narrative, and personal comments, points to some of the reasons threads like these don't tend to last long.

Feel free to post some of the actual issues, backed by science, and then offer your own informed solutions, rather than hanging on the scripted media comments of an uneducated young girl and 4chan.

Oh, and once again, not everyone that recognises the manipulation is a denialist, many people like that are probably quite well informed, and concerned at the direction things are going, and why.

No, no. I'm sure that you and your General chat 'bubble' have this topic sewn up also.

From your posts so far, they're not your own comments but those you've picked up elsewhere, so you are superfluous to the discussion. :emoticon-0128-hi:

Are you referring to the case in Nigeria from 1995?

There's actually some better ones going on right at this very moment, and much, much closer to home. They're actually supported by some of the people those that try to call others denialists support.

Eh? What you on about? Touched a nerve, I guess.

You may have done, but not mine. For what it's worth, if you actually bothered to find out what credible environmentalists are saying, you'd be shocked to find that I'm pretty much in agreement with them and vice versa.

The failings come when ill informed reactionaries think it's all black and white based on media soundbites.

I'm almost certain that your version of 'credible' is entirely different to my own.

I 100% guarantee it will be. Now that's sorted, perhaps you could post something meaningful about the actual topic?

I’m doing my bit to help
I’d normally turn the hot tub up a bit as it gets more wintery, but despite going in it tonight I decided to leave it a full half degree below its normal Nov temp.

I’ll review the situation next week, but I’m feeling pretty bloody good about saving a bit of the world in the meantime

COP26

I like it when the guy says 'this is one of the most important meetings in history' - someone should tell sleepy Joe that...

I agree with a lot of the protests going on, these events just seem to be discussions and a gesture of goodwill. India has promised to go net zero carbon emission by 2070. Pretty sure we don't have that long.

What happened to the plans to electrify the railways? Did that ever get off the ground?
