They had Eriksen and before that Modric. The front men dined out on them. Now nobody and it shows massively.

    True.

Alli's loss of any form is explained by being facilitated to just run forward and finish. As him to do anything else and he is hammered.

I'm shocked Mr coutinho has not turned up there on loan before now.

Yeah, it was not a midfielder, it was not a no 9 role, its wasnt a right winger roles really. It was run in and score.

Aguero 3 months off after suffering chest complaints on his second start for Barca. Hopefully if there are any major issues they caught it before caused serious problems

I think this happens every season
I also think it tells you who is going to win the league
I think you need that ‘luck’ of when, where and who you play
Our game against Brentford was a prime example imho
I think the fixtures and how they fall are almost just as essential as the squad lol
I am not saying it is fixed or anything like that as you cannot guarantee which teams are going to be in form. Just think as the season goes on you can tell if it is going your way or not.

In my mind we just need a season without multiple injuries because we don’t have much in terms of depth but you guys have discussed that loads :)

Which, to be fair, is a useful attribute to have. Goal scoring midfielders of that ilk are hard to find.

I quite like Ali as a player, but Jose Mourinho'd him. We all know Jose likes to have one of the kids to pick on and Ali was his target at spurs.

Emery has some premiership experience but has he ever tried to stop his team from being relegated? If they appoint him, I will definitely put a bet on their relegation. In that situation you need a different type of manager. Howe is a better bet having managed teams who have spent most of their time in the bottom half and still play decent football.

Eddie Howe wil take them down. Think he’s a very average manager and has no clue how to stop a team conceding goals. Add the fact Newcastle defence already poor abs teams are gonna give them a few hammering max if he takes over

Newcastle are likely to spend big in January so I don't particularly see a relegation battle. Agree on Howe being the wiser long term choice.

Eddie Howe isn't really that good enough. He spunked a lot of money whilst at Bournemouth as well.

Newcastle should some ambition and go for Emery - not the best choice but he has won trophies and has some high level experience.

Guardian reporting that the Emery deal is close.

He must be going purely for the money, Villareal are the current Europa League champs, finished 7th last season and are second in their CL group behind Man U.

Howe is a good manager, but not the type to keep Newcastle up. If he tookover in the Championship i could see him bringing them up and staying up.
