The Times report that, come the 2023-4 season, the Premier League will introduce a new VAR system which automates offside calls

Because as anyone who has a Youtube channel will tell you, the best thing about having fully-automated systems with no human oversight whatsoever is how they never make any errors whatsoever...

Also, anyone know where the VAR Watch thread went? I couldn't find it

Nothing will change the fact VAR will favour LFC and MUFC as per usual.

Ah, but now there's one distinct difference: you can't say it was the officials doing it

What's the betting that as a result you never get to see the evidence that led to a decision? The tag line will be that it's automatic so it's fair. Sure, if it was programmed that way. All that will happen as a result of this is that when you see bias in future you'll be told it can't be because the system doesn't allow it. Depends how independent the original system is I suppose.
