Where next for Paul di Resta?

Alonso's performances were better than his team-mates in his first year, his results may not have been, but his performances were, Hulkenburg has never impressed me in the slightest, people bring up his pole but that was a fluke of nature, if the HRT had gone out when Hulkenburg did it would've probably got pole.

This timing thing is horse ****, Hulkenberg set the first and second fastest time in qualifying so it had nothing to do with being last over the line, he was in a class of his own that day.

This! Hulkenberg did about 9 consecutive purple sectors.

Whilst this is true, it is also worth bearing in mind that Force India have been (openly and fairly) using team orders in favour of Sutil this year. This is not to say that this is the sole reason for Sutil being in front in the standings, but it does tend to make their comparison slightly unfair.
 
Not something that I personally want to see... But...

Brawn is slowly getting "The Band" back together. Could it be possible that they pick up Lewis at some point down the line, leaving the door open for Di Resta at McLaren?

As a Mercedes fan I would gladly welcome Lewis to the Silverarrows.

Force India reserve driver Nico Hulkenberg is set to be promoted to a race seat next year alongside Paul di Resta

There's not really that much to prove this so hypothetically do you think this is a good/bad/so-so move?
 
Force India has gone down in my list, Sutil is the best driver of all 3 of them (by quite a long way), If he wasnt here this year, they wouldnt have their position in the WCC. That is quite possibly the worst thing FI has ever done.

With him and Massa's collisions on track being made into massive dramas like Eastenders, compared to Petrov and Schumacher settling it there an then, I would say "lose the ego and the (superstar) personality, grow up and be mature", before he joins such an elite team in terms of it's past.
If you don't like my post ignore me, simple.

I disagree. I think di Resta is better. He's only seven points behind and without the series of mistakes he made earlier in the season - which I think he'll iron out next season and appears to have done so already - he would be comfortably ahead. I'd much rather have di Resta over Sutil next year, although I think Sutil is better than Hulkenberg.

I agree with SilverArrow here. I simply cannot see Force India wishing to part company with the very talented and technically capable di Resta, who is worth his weight in gold for a developing and ambitious team which lacks the wealth and resource of those ahead of them.

Sutil is a good, very quick and capable driver but he has been too inconsistent. Unlike his Scottish team-mate, I do not regard his technical feedback as exceptionally good. Then again, I was not especially impressed by Hulkenberg, although I think he, in turn, is probably better than Senna.

To be fair, it is only Massa doing the childish complaining about the incidents that mainly appear to be racing incidents that could have happened between any two drivers.

Despite what people say about Monza, watch Lewis & Schuey race at Monaco. Both had the respect to give each other room at the hairpin and St Devote where others chose to turn in. Real racers know when a corner has to be given up.
 
Excellent news if true. It's good to see that Force India have noticed Hulkenburg's talent in the little time he's been given to prove himself. I believe Hulkenburg is the the best driver out of the Force India trio, and I look forward to seeing the Hulk embarrassing Di Resta next year.

dunno, he hardly blew Barrichello away at Williams and his friday sessions haven't been without incident this year so I can't see him 'embarrassing' di Resta.

If Force India want to go up the grid then it may be a good choice to have two young chargers, but then you lose the development aspect of not having an experience driver for feedback. Not sure how good either di Reston or Hulk are at that. They may be okay.

With the testing ban in place it usually takes a while for a rookie to get settled and drive to his best - Petrov took a whole year before showing that he deserved to be in F1. Hulkenburg also had a few teething problems but he's a very talented driver and from what I've seen in the practice sessions, he's impressed me more than the two regular Force India drivers.

Hamilton called Schumacher a "dirty driver" during the Monaco GP although there were some stunning overtakes, that's the flaw with him.
It became more apparent in Monza, he wants to race fairly (when he wants to)... and unfairly (when he wants to).
Another reason why he is hypocritical at times.
Schumacher ....(at Hamilton's age), had much more respect for the older drivers such as Senna and Prost as well as Mansell.
Therefore I do not believe that they will get along if they ever were to work together.
Schumacher works with the team to produce a better car each season. Hamilton gives ultimatums to the team if they don't deliver, vast difference.

He has a good record in junior formula so he has raw speed, just got th efeeling for some reason it never shone through at Williams.

Should get a second chance somewhere though and if that is Force India then at least it will be with a team that has also shown genuine speed.
