Listening to Simon Jordan on talkSPORT earlier on today, he has said, because because Newcastle have been in profit for the past ex amount of seasons, for the next 3 years they can spend any amount they like without breaching FFP. Imagine what a club with infinite wealth could do in 6 transfer windows. Money doesn't buy success or course, but Imo ofcourse, everyone better get ready for the Mags to go wild in the transfer market.
I'm a bit amazed at that by Jordan cause thought he knew better, I think its 200 million over 3 seasons can be spent with ffp. If top players want to go to a relagation threatened team in January it's gonna cost them that amount in just the Jan window and they'll still be no where near the top 6

thing is, if your'e in that elite group of top players, chances are you're already at a top club, playing european football, and earning a huge amount of money. moving to newcastle will be a huge downward step for these players, (not to mention their wives /girlfriends/boyfriends) so how many truly world class players will want to make the move, especially as, whenever they look like being available, there'll be a dozen options worldwide for them to choose from.

Anyone think this sounds similar to when SD and Mathven arrived
:)

“We appreciate the gem we’re custodians of,” said Staveley.

“And we’ll make sure that every single part of this club is dusted down, and we’ll invest in all levels. We’ve got to. It’s critical. It can’t happen without that.

“Please, rest assured we understand we’ve got a big job to do, and we’re not scared of rolling up our sleeves and getting on with it quickly. But, sometimes, we don’t want to make hasty decisions when we don’t know where we are today and what we have.

“We don’t want to make kneejerk decisions, but we know we’ll be investing very heavily over the next few years.”

The next few years?

That won't go down well with the Mags will it, they want it now!

I did jokingly say to my mate that the Saudis have a smell of 'Sartori' about them, and Staveley is basically Donald and Methven.

They’re not very decisive. Day 3 and Bruce is still calling the shots. This is a consortium. Can the Ruebens and Stavely keep up with the billions being pumped in?

he like all the other media outlets have done a massive U Turn, this time last week they were a joke, this week they're lining up to kiss their arses. I do believe they will be like @Smug in Boots said, unrecognizable sooner rather than later. And I don't believe this "good for the region" ****e aswell. Our owners a loaded and the one and only thing the media attached themselves onto was how old KLD was, not what their wealth could do for the region. Granted its dwarfed compared to a counties wealth that owns one football club, but I'm sure you catch my drift. FTM

I can't find the article, but I'm sure I read it the other day that Staverly rocked up at the training ground to introduce herself but Brucie had (suprise suprise) given them all the day off. <laugh><laugh>

Some boy is Brucie. He will walk straight into another decent job with 3m in his sky rocket as well.

Last report I seen that 3 is now £8 mil. Good luck to the bloke if he gets it.

That number keeps rising...

Just like the articles on what Pif is worth, some saying 220 billion, some 320 billion and some article saying 850 billion today.

Safe to say what the hell.
Wonder how long it takes for managers to negotiate a % of 'something' for their exit fee. I'm sure actors have negotiated a % of profit for the film or a set fee for a long time. Harrison Ford and Star Wars compared to Mark Hammil for the same movie springs to mind.
