    What did you think of the actions taken by the Suffragettes Tom?

    Here are just a few:

    disrupted Parliament;
    chained themselves to railings;
    broke windows;
    burned down churches;
    held huge marches and demonstrations;
    attacked politicians;
    set post-boxes on fire;
    slashed paintings;
    went on hunger strike when arrested.

    So you think it's ok to stop ambulances getting through?

    Some context is needed here.

    Stopping ambulances getting through is indefensible.

    World leaders continuing to ignore or downplay the climate emergency is equally indefensible, but in the scheme of things, infinitely more life threatening.
    Someone might get seriously hurt at a protest on the M25. Meanwhile, the world is burning, the ice cap is melting, species are being wiped out at record rates. And governments around the world are paying lip service at best, while the rich get richer and the poor get ****ed, all on the back of oil company profits.

    None of this will matter to our grandchildren if we don't wake up soon, because the planet will no longer support human life; certainly not in anything like the numbers or the lifestyles we are used to.

    Some people may get seriously hurt or even killed but in the grand scheme of things it will be worth it to get the message across. Collateral damage.
    Somethings are more worthy than a few dead now, who cares as long as it's not me. Jeez.

    Given that this isn’t a black and white problem, as you seem to want to make it, how would you rate climate change among all the issues that beset us at the moment?

    Firstly, I've got nothing against pressure groups campaigning and there is a definite lack of commitment from our government and other governments across the world, but they are not being considerate to others. These protesters are obviously getting the attention they are after, but who is getting the ****ty end of the stick? Not the government that's for sure. Putting the general public at risk of death for a cause is not the way, anyone who thinks it is has lost touch with the value of human life. From the interviews I have seen their attitude amounts to " it's unfortunate but this is a bigger issue" and you seem to agree. How many lost lives are acceptable to be able to protest against climate change do you think?

    Alexander "Spaffer" ****ing Johnson is about to chair an international conference on the horrors of climate change and this is what he said about people who think something practical and urgent needs to be done:

    Speaking to LBC's Nick Ferrari from the Conservative Party conference in Manchester, the Prime Minister said the protest action by the climate change group is "insane" and damaging the economy.

    Mr Ferrari slammed: "Come on Boris Johnson, you have got to sort this out!"

    The Prime Minister hammered: "There are some people who call those individuals legitimate protesters! They're not!

    "I think they are irresponsible crusties who are basically trying to stop people going about their day's work.

    "And doing considerable damage to the economy!"

    Mr Johnson added: "And that is why we have taken the powers and why Priti Patel is doing the right thing so they can get six months or an unlimited fine.

    "Or actually we have got section 60 powers to search the whole area!"

    The Tories taking the piss?

    Section 28 of the Local Government Act was enacted in May 1988

    • It was brought in to "prohibit the promotion of homosexuality by local authorities"

    OK Steve, but don't hold your breath. The vacuous speech from The Great One yesterday was smarter than it looked. Yes it was full of empty rhetoric, but it's a rhetoric that will resonate with voters. Who is going to disagree that the country is unbalanced and needs 'levelling up'? Who is going to say that we don't want a high-skilled high wage economy?

    Of course we are where we are after decades of Tory rule - and he's distanced himself from that, even the last eleven years during which he's been an in-out member of cabinets. The man is a walking lie, but people like that. He's funny and witty, allegedly.

    But the media - including the increasingly sycophantic BBC - only go so far in challenging this crap. Did anyone see the 'reality check' interview on Andrew Marr after Bozo's car crash of an interview? It was classic 'on the one hand' wishy washy bullshit. The bastards have tethered the BBC with licence fee threats.

    Sorry, Steve. I'll be more succinct. We're ****ed, mate

    Yeah, his speech was aimed squarely at former Labour supporters who switched from red to blue at the last election; and, empty rhetoric though it clearly was, Boris is a master of rhetoric, and that will resonate.

    Who doesn't want a high wage, high skill economy? Trusting the Tories to deliver it is another matter obviously.
