A kid can't go out, buy lager and get pissed. It's illegal.

A kid can legally decide to have a vaccine and their choice on that specifically comes before their parents wants.

I didn't mention getting pissed. I'm also not comparing the situations.

Unsure why alcohol was mentioned by another, let’s move away from that.

you have made your feeling clear and I won’t attempt to quote or change your view.
My 7 year old ever gets offered and she wants it, she is smart enough to be allowed. And she won’t be pushed.

She won't though, so it's a completely moot point, but do you you really think a seven year will have all the information she needs on the potential effect of the virus against that of the vaccine on her, to be able to make a measured decision?

Really?

We genuinely don't have enough evidence of any potential long term effects as no one who's had it, any of them, has even entered long term territory yet.

There's a good deal of evidence on the affect of the virus on that age group though.

Sorry, Libby. You mentioned solvents.

The law would be against a 12 year old for using solvents. The law would side with a child when it comes to them wanting to be vaccinated to protect their health.

Completely different scenarios.

Solvent abuse isn't illegal.

I know they're different scenarios and have said so a few times now. But we're in agreement that there are incidences where a parent would reasonably restrict a teenagers choice where there aren't laws involved?

Like I say. I wasn't talking about covid specifically but this insinuation that choice is a non revocable right.

nail on the head

Can I be done for neglect if I am not looking after my 12-15 year old? Would social services be on my case? I don’t really know because I don’t involve these people in my life.

only get a choice in my kids life if I can shag you unconditionally…thems the rules I’m afraid.

I will use Haig and that 15 year old girl as examples of people not taking/wanting to take the vaccine.

one was firmly in the camp that it was a hoax. The other was desperate to have it knowing the benefits of it.

now over 98 % of Covid deaths in the U.K. are the single and unvaccinated. In the US 11 times more unvaccinated people are admitted to hospital for Covid than vaccinated.

I’m not letting a nurse/paramedic be the last thing my child sees if she was unlucky enough to catch Covid. Risk your own kids, I hope they never see a hospital while others spread scare stories on possible side effect.

I don’t have teenagers.

exactly

yet here you are trying to tell us all about how they think and work and their maturity levels

If your Missus had any sense she would give you your P45 before your young’n hits the teens

i've heard that 100% of people who get run over left their house to go out.

An unfortunate 55 children (ages 24 and under) have died from COVID since February this year with 8 of those being 14 or under.

On the other hand we get 146 deaths (i've made it bi annual) from road related accidents of which 19 are 15 or under.
