Don't know much about the man as a coach but he seems to be doing a good job with the U23s. I gues he would also smooth out the differences between them and the way the first team plays. As an ex forward himself he may also be able to shift the emphasis to a more creative and attacking style. I would further imagine that he is in an advantageous position in seeing young talent develop at other clubs. Probably unlikely to break the bank in terms of salary but he would have to be replaced in his current role. The only question is, and it's a question that would apply to Mick or any other proposed boss, can he keep us in the Championship to start with?

A few people have suggested Morison. Certainly an eye for the future. His biggest short term issue would be persuading the more senior players that playing the ball along the ground, to their own team members, is the best way forward.
In saying that yesterday, despite the loss, was a big improvement on recent games.

I see the revolving door at Watford has clicked on a notch. Don't want their cast off but an interesting dynamic.

Bit short term. He's off to a new residence of a semi permanent nature in a month or so. Giggs could be his neighbour.

I'd be happy to see Morrison given a chance but it'd require a fair bit of patience from us fans as we try to evolve.
Trollope and Harris both attempted to influence and effect a change of style but failed miserably in pretty quick time.
I guess the one advantage Morrison would have as has been pointed out is that he knows the youngsters and how to get the best out of them.
Maybe backfill Morrison with big Sol Bamba as youth coach if we could tempt him "home"?
Wonder if Roy Hodgson fancies a DOF role on a part time consultancy basis?

Morison has got a team of lads playing football with decent passing and movement and an end product.
Asking him to replicate that with the first team squad would be not only impossible but unrealistic.

I cannot see the board doing anything unless it gets so bad that a change has to be made. Our fixtures this month present only one realistic winning opportunity (Boro). Nov doesn’t look any easier. So we’re not expected to go on a winning run.
I think sadly the board will persevere with him, hope we scrape through the season ie hoping there’ll be 3 worse clubs- and reevaluate for next season.

And therein lies the problem.
We really need a long term plan, starting now. This season is probably a write off already but if we can get a manager, coach, director of football or whatever to start playing football instead of hoofball then that's a start. Someone who can also attract good younger football talent to the club, as I expect there will be a clearout at the end of the season, and have the backing of Vincent and the board. I'm not sure Morison has the experience but maybe he could step up and learn as an assistant to the new boss.
Agree cdompletely with what you're saying there Irish.
The only things I would say is that nobody has experience until they get experience. Also he's running an U23 team that sometimes includes senior players. He's not dealing purely with kids. With no transfer window until January, I would be tempted to make the move now and set down a marker for the way we want to change our ethos and style. Maybe a contract until the end of the calendar year. If all goes well he keeps it for a bit longer. If not, he goes back to the fine job he's already doing and we get someone who can give impetus to the work he started. At least that way we will, as you say, have made a start and hoofball will be gone.
I think the Hornets missed a trick when we have a far better option that they could have gone afterRanieri to Watford.

We've had 7 in the same period, yet are struggling in the Championship.
Action or inaction - which is the worse?
That they may be, but for how long and at what expense?
They must have several managers still receiving pay-offs and despite their success in selling a few players for decent money I'm not sure what their transfer deficit is?
If they come down again and don't go back up then I imagine they'll be a prime candidate for FFP sanctions and maybe worse.
Unless of course they use the same accountants as the Snow Queens.. which in that case they won't get punished until around 2030, by which time the football league will have merged with the lower half of the Premier League due to the top 10 wanting to create a new structure with strict entry criteria for the new set up.
As a result any financial misdealings and sanctions will become null and void.
