I don't think it'll be that simple.

This league is all about consistency and whoever can find it will succeed. As of yet, only Southampton have found any consistency and hence they're top of the league. We are in that group of teams who are still improving and still have work to do to climb the league. We have shown signs that we can find some consistency (both home and away) but I think we still need to improve before we can count ourselves as genuine title contenders - at the moment we're showing enough signs to make me think we're capable of getting there, we just need to be more consistent to actually get there <ok>.
 
OLM, bout time you got here, a thread like this usually gets you all lathered up and excited, like a red rag to a bull.

Seriously though, how do you think (realistically) Hull will fair at the end of the season? Play-offs or fading away at some point over the season? Serious question

We're looking better every game, the last two performances have not just been the best this season, they've been the best for years(at least since we got a bit carried away and accidentally found ourselves at the top of the Premier League for a month).

We're playing attractive attacking football(I know, a Pearson team, who'd have thunk it) and it's nothing like last season, we're a team of short-arse's with a lot of talent, so it's all ball on the deck stuff now.

In addition to having a team playing well, we've got arguably our best player(Cameron Stewart) due back from a nine month lay off next month, along with Olofinjana, who may well be moved on in January(due to his £28k a week wages), but we might still give him some pitch time to get him in the shop window ahead of off-loading him.

I'd say we're one of the best teams in the league at the moment, we are still not scoring enough goals, but we're creating plenty of chances and I expect that sooner or later the strikers will find their shooting boots again. As long as we can keep key players fit, then I'd definitely hope to see us make the play-off's.

Interesting. How's Hobbs coping with that then? I think the primary reason he didn't perform here under Sousa or Sven was that they wanted him to pass out from the back more.

I tipped you for play-offs at the start and Nigel Pearson isn't just a good man manager, he's more tactically astute than many give him credit for. How's Fryatt and Waggy getting on as well (pre-injury of course).

Hobbs has been doing a good job, he's very solid and he's fortunate that he's got the exceptionally talented James Chester alongside him. As you've mentioned, he's not brilliant with the ball at his feet, but he doesn't need to be, he just needs to pass to Chester as soon as possible. <laugh>

Fryatt hasn't been finding the target as often as last season and he's missed a couple we'd have expected him to finish last season, but he's looked better since Waggy came in, as he holds the ball up well and creates space for him. Waggy has been excellent, defences are finding him a handful, he's opening up space for Fryatt and Koren and I'm sure securing his services on a permanent are priority one January(along with extending Brady's loan from Man United until the end of the season).

I think we missed Waggy at Brighton and he's still a doubt for Saturday, but hopefully he'll at least make the bench. <ok>
 
Hull will finish in play-off i think, Pearson has been there long enough now and has invested wisely with the club giving him funds.
