It wasn’t about if you are **** you shouldn’t be sacked. It was about wishing my team to lose. However **** I thought my manager was I never wished my team to lose. If as you imply you wish your team to lose to get rid of the manager good luck to you mate.

I can just see what's before my eyes, and it's clear now that he won't take that extra step up. He and his assistants just aren't very good coaches or tacticians.

As I said yesterday, to lose when two major rivals were playing one another, and so were guaranteed to drop points, is criminal.

And it's a habit he's got into over the past few years.
His teams never take advantage of these things.

I'm not even calling for him to be sacked right now, it's just extremely frustrating watching what is more than likely to be a wasted season for a team full of potential under a coaching team that is bafflingly clueless.

I'm fairly sure Alex Ferguson would be the first to say he was no coach.

That's why he had Archie Knox, Brian Kidd Carlos Queiroz, Steve McClaren, Rene Muelensteen, Jimmy Ryan alongside him.

Solskjaer needs to get some class coaches in if he's to be a success of any sort. Coaches with innovation, because he certainly does not posses that himself.

From what I can see Phelan and Carrick are trying to set up a midfield like 2007-2010. BOTH were integral to the side at that time - one was the assistant the other a player with a key role in that midfield.

Carrick and Fletcher is your Fred and McTominay. Defensively minded. The only difference being neither are quite up to the task of their predecessors. Given time McTominay could be but no fcking way Fred is anywhere near the realms of Carrick.

In fact the more I see the way the side sets up, the more I'm absolutely convinced of it. The problem is that, tactically that's all Carrick's ever known. And Phelan had better midfielders to work with. And all 3 imcluding Ole seem to be wrapped up in trying to emulate it, with the rigid belief it's the only way forward.

You’re labeling me as some anti-fan for suggesting that I wish the team would lose the next two games. Yet your post is exactly why I suggested that it would take extreme case for the Glazers to do anything about change that is required. The very fact that you’re suggesting that “it won’t happen until the end of the season” suggests that mediocrity is enough because like it or not, the owners are just fine with it. So yes, my statement of hoping we lose is to hypothetically suggest that rapid change is absolutely required before we lose yet another season.

From your posts, you’re also affirming that you don’t expect much from Ole beyond what has already been served up. We are six games into the campaign, why on earth are we already suggesting that nothing should happen until the end of the season? I find that absurd! We appear to be the only top team that will continue to save face just for the sake of giving the manager even more time beyond what most enjoy.

Overall, the campaign has just started. I get it! And of course, let’s leave things as is and “hope” that things fall into place. After all, we have been hoping for some time now. I guess it matters not to continue useless hope strategy for yet another fkin season.

The worst part of that is that we have so many players collecting dust on the bench that the one competition that they could use is now gone. Sancho can’t even make the team with Rashford still injured.

All top managers - Klopp/Pep/Tuchel acknowledge midfield is the most important position on the pitch whereas OGS doesn't. United are going to struggle massively against top half teams this year (especially at Old Trafford).

Depends what you mean. If you're talking about a decent defensive midfield general like Kante, I agree.

Creatively though I think we have a good variety of options.

I see the point that you’re making. I have personally questioned the wisdom in bringing in more attacking midfielders. I’m very critical of Pogba for not signing a new deal, but watching him closely this season, he clearly has a massive presence that Bruno doesn’t have. But there’s certainly room for both of them. The challenge is playing both of them and having Fred with McTominay in the same midfield. It’s like duplicates across the midfield area. I’d like to see McTominay play in place of Fred to give better balance to how the side is setup.

Pogba provides enough defensive coverage while still creating the play going forward to compliment a McTominay that sits as a defensive midfielder. It is only then that you can use the likes of Sancho, Greenwood or Rashford more effectively.

The midfield is just so crowded that we’re never setup to cohesively control games without relying on counter attacks.
