I wonder if its really that cost, mate, or is it some dodgy accounting process to help with FFP?...
Of course it’s this. They want to be able to justify spending on wages etc and can easily use this. Sadly we hadn’t the need back in the day. We could literally have just spent money on players to push for the title. But we didn’t bother

They can't mate, the fans would be in uproar imo

Aye they would never move away from Anfield, couldn't **** about the Kop then.

Still sell discounted tickets, which then get banged online for huge profit due to their non-local following.

I'd never been to Liverpool (the city, not just the football ground), until very recently, and I was surprised by quite how run down it seems. I'd imagined it would be quite a nice place, where there'd been a bit of inverstment and redevelopment, but It reminded me more of Birmingham in the early 80s (which is not a good thing). There's some nice architecture there around the docks, and some parts of the city, but I saw some real decrepit areas too, and in the city centre there were more drunken or mentally unwell people wandering around than I'm used to seeing in the Midlands or the North.

Don't forget about the famous European nights aswell.

Yep! I was last there for the 1-1 when SEB scored and you can’t see the Kop at all. ****e.

Doesn’t even say restricted view on your tickets, or didn’t then.
Was actually an OK end to stand in before the seats.
Roof was low but generated a cracking atmosphere
1981 wasn't too bad a day out

We started off in the Kop because we couldn't get in the Sunderland end, massive queues. After 15 minutes fighting broke out and the police made us leave although we were happy to stay. They marched us to the front and along the touchline to our end ...

... the Scousers gave us stick so we gave it back. The Sunderland lads saw all the commotion and started up with 'Geordies here, Geordies there' and we joined in.

By the time we jumped into our end we were treated like heroes, great memories.

We were stuck in a traffic jam at about 2:00 thought we weren't going to get in
Jimmy Armfield on the radio saying this is why Sunderland deserve to stay up an hour before kick off and the noise is deafening
A day out not to forget

It's possible that away support, like that, may never be seen again ...

... it was absolutely incredible and an honour to be part of.

if i win the euros we will be going to 65,000 ! first the south stand 5,000 in there then the east stand 12,000 seats in there. like Valencia's stadium. Also escalators and lifts. A new multi storey car park near sheepfolds as well.

Has there not been hell on for a few years now about the bindippers ( and the council) letting the area run down? People offered below market value for the houses etc. Sounds like it has been a long term plan to buy up all of the surrounding area.
