There's absolutely no way that should be happening.

I see why Pep wants that. It helps the top sides in Spain etc to be better sides. But no ****ing way should it ever happen

It means that players who sign for teams who hoard all the youth get some experience, meaning the 'big' clubs make even more money. Alternatively, they could be prevented from poaching and hoarding young lads, meaning everyone benefits.

He has been here before on this. Couple of years ago I think. I agree, generally, that u23 football isnt strong enough, certainly not to allow a pathway to the premier league 1st team. It is not fit for purpose when it comes to readying players for top level play. The intensity and standard is too low and often games arent treated the same by both teams. When their u23s are winning comfortably it wont help players development. Young players need challenge and adversity to improve, not straightforward wins.

The answer isnt to change the pyramid though. When he talks about English football he is talking about the prem and national side, not the pyramid. Either create a b side that joins at thr bottom of the pyramid like Salford and earn the right. Or do a Brentford and withdraw from organised u23 football and create a B team of open age and organise your own fixture schedule.

    Good post mate.

Man City have an U23 Dutch lad, called Jayden Braaf, who arrived 3 years back and is valued at around £3 million pound.

Pep wants Man City U23's to replace a club like Hartlepool so Braaf can develop against better players than the U23's of Man Utd, etc.

Therefore we lose Hartlepool so a Dutch lad, who'll probably be sold to Ajax, can play in our league instead ...

... and this is supposed to be good for English football <doh>

First Pep has a go at Chitty fans, which he is right about. Now he has gone on about U23 etc.

Does he want to leave Chitty....is that what all the whingeing is about. He ballsed up the Champions League Final... and is trying to distract attention?

Thankfully Hartlepool will be around long after Pep has gone to his next 'project' costing mega bucks

He soon will. If City win the Champions League he'll be off this season, if not he will at the end of his contract. Off to Italy or a prominent national team job next. And he can take his ****e ideas like this with him

Does he really believe Man City B team supporters would take incredible support away to Charlton like Hartlepool did ...

That's one of his present gripes!

Anfield goes ballistic on a Liverpool European night. Chitty is like a morgue!

Anfield was like a morgue the only time I’ve been. So disappointed. Liverpool v SAFC when Kenwyne was there. He missed a sitter and we lost 2-0. Have been to livelier wakes!!

I was there and we totally embarrassed them with our support ...

... shame about Kenwyne's back pass.

    This.

From a Premier League point of view it would be perfect - instead of loaning out their players, they have them playing competitively every week as a group

It should never, ever ****ing happen and I will stop going to games if we ever found ourselves in the misfortune to play an U23 team. It's bad enough they are in the Pizza Cup
