As Brazil is on our covid red list, ironically won't they have to isolate for 10 days on their return? Or do we have special rules for precious footballers?
They're isolating on a Croatian island before returning to the club One or two might want to stay on the island...
Apparently Son has got an injury to his right calf and he’s been excluded from South Korea’s next match. So that’s him and Sess getting injuries and Lo Celso, Romero and Sanchez all definitely being unavailable for Palace. What an international break this has been.
Spurs don’t need Lo Celso. Romero hasn’t played in the league yet has he. Fine the pair of them. Twats
Just far too many International games, too many competitions. How did football let this happen? FIFA & UEFA both motivated by money. Instead of forming a useless super league clubs should use their collective power to combat this power. How about charging FIFA & UEFA for the use of their players? Constant interruptions to the season are a pain that most club supporters hate.
We exactly need what Lo Celso is supposed to bring to our midfield. We badly need a playmaker in there. Lo Celso has shown some signs of being able to do this but has so far not played consistently to establish a position in the team. Calling them twats is based on what exactly? Surely it's the system that is at fault, they are international players, one of the reasons we bought them, and therefore it is their International body that should have sorted out the covid situation. They as players simply have to make themselves available.
Lo Celso’s pretty much just an Argentinian Holtby. No idea what it is he actually does anymore. If Ndombele wasn’t so damn lazy and unfit he’d be exactly what we need in place of Dele in the side. Skipp and Hojbjerg supporting a fully motivated and in shape Ndombele would on paper be a very good midfield but the lazy prick will likely never reach his potential with his current attitude. He’s got so much more ability than any other midfielder we have but he’s quickly becoming a very expensive Taarabt. Lo Celso can stay in Croatia for all I care to be honest.
I’ve seen little from Lo Celso to suggest he can do any of what the club need from him. For different reasons to Ndombele, he’s a massive disappointment too. If it’s true that they went against club orders by travelling then they’re twats.
I think you are harsh on Lo Celso but the rest I agree with you. Once a player falls out of favour with you there is no road back
Or Spurs are twats in hiring Argentine Internationals who you might expect to want to play for their country AND have a trip home. Your twat badge needs reserving perhaps until the story comes out properly (If it ever does). You're right we have seen little from Lo Celso but I have seen enough to think he has something. He tries when he is one the field, unlike Ndomebele who I would agree IS a twat.
Gotta be ruthless in this day and age, especially with the money they’re earning now. Slackers and poor players don’t deserve my respect. Bin them off to Newcastle or somewhere and move on. More Kane’s, Son’s, Lloris’ and Hojbjerg’s, please. Not Ndombele’s, Lo Celso’s and Winks’.
If the story is true then the players should have listened to the club that pay their wages. Especially as Romero is new and should he eager to impress (so far he hasn’t impressed me) and Lo Celso owes the club some decent consistent performances. Of course if it’s false then the twat is me for believing the fake story
RE Lo Celso, we’re into his third season as a Spurs player and he’s still only a bench player. Most times when I watch him I often think to myself “aren’t you meant to be better than this?!”. If we’d paid about £15m I’d be okay with him being a squad player… But a combined cost of £42m and it becomes a joke. I didn’t fully expect he or Ndombele to completely replace what Dembele and Eriksen brought us but I at least thought there’d be some level of quality brought to the team. Tragic pair of signings.
The only trouble with that is that we have these players on our books and we need them to perform. We have clearly tried to bin off Ndombele and Winks but it's not that easy Newcastle can't afford them. I take your point on the money and surely it should make them try a little harder than many seem too, but of course it's doesn't take long to get used to a new level of pay and then kind of expect it. Where the **** is my next Ferrari coming from and my Yacht needs a refit.
I agree we do need them to perform but when it’s obvious they won’t or can’t, drop them to the reserves and give someone else a chance. They’ll soon instruct their agents to sort a move away eventually. Winks refused to leave this summer with Everton and Villa interested but more time sitting on the bench likes he’s done in the league so far and his stance will change. In recent years especially it’s felt like we’ve given way too many chances to players and that persistence with mediocrity has caused us to slide down that table quite sharply. The club has gotta start taking a sterner stance to things and raise expectations, if players can’t meet those expectations then it should be bye bye.
Oh great 3 missing due to COVID rules and now Son injured https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/heung-min-son-injury-tottenham-b954059.html
How would you like it if your employer fined you for doing something your contract explicitly permitted after he had requested you not to?
This was obviously thought through though as they and Sanchez are going to Croatia for 10 days and Spurs are sending a fitness coach out there to supervise their training
So what are we thinking for Palace? Dier & Rodon with Tanganga at RB or Dier & Tanganga with Emerson at RB
