Like him a lot but I'm greedy and would like someone else to help him out in the goal scoring department. Plus he may well get injured/suspended/have a bad run.
Think the club have decided that the versatility of new signings cover that. Broadhead can play through the middle. As can OB and the new lad from Bayern. It's not a bad approach as we have 3 slots in behind Ross that will need freshening up too.
I wouldn't say no but it's impossible, imo, to drop Stewart, and hard to see how a second striker could fit into our current system. We also have AOB, who's better than we've seen imo, and Broadhead, who could get game time as the season progresses. The conundrum is that bringing in a proven scorer would probably mean dropping Stewart otherwise how could we tempt them here ... ... but bringing someone in, who isn't as good as Stewart, would be pointless. Putting together the right squad, with the right attitude, isn't easy is it.
G Grigg to donny 3 year deal . If we get the other 3 in today what a window its been. If diamond goes out on loan I'd hope we manage to find a lower league 1 side instead of league 2 again
I can see the logic but personally if push came to shove, I'd pick an out and out striker over another midfielder/winger/full back.
The lazy twat has never done a 100% in anything apart from being the useless waste of oxygen that we have
Agree Stewart must start. However, Pritchard/Geads/Gooch/Diamond/AOB/Broadhead (who are all decent) don't really convince me as regular goal scorers - hope I'm wrong. Certainly they plus the 'new winger' should give competition to spur each other on.
It may be that we will get more goals from the others as Stewart is much more mobile, intelligent and with a better touch to be able to create space for them, compared with Wyke.
If we are seriously thinking of letting him go on loan and to come back a better player ready for next seasons squad I think putting him in a lower league1 team might not be better than playing him in a top league2 team. We want to see him attacking as much as possible and supplying the target man. He will be better off in league 2 for that in a team full of confidence Lower league 1 means he'll spend more time defending playing in a squad with little confidence
I know we shouldn’t care about the other sides - but this is a ridiculous signing at this level. still have to wonder how Paul Cook doesn’t have them all moaning about not playing tho
Hope you're not too busy elsewhere today mate......hanging on your every word......not much else being done here....constant refreshing!
It’s all the excitement of signing the Bayern lads. I don’t think it would hurt us too much if we didn’t get a right back in anyway, given Winchester’s form and the amount of players that can cover.
I know what your saying , however where were Blackpool in the league when Embleton was loaned to them? I'd personally rather diamond stayed at this level as I do think it would be more beneficial long term , say we get promotion it's a massive jump to be playing in the championship as apose to league 2 Unless the plan is to loan him out again next season I get your point though all transfers are a risk I suppose
To be fair (and no offence @Prehab26 ) but it's deadline day - we don't need inside info today because the club's admin should be pretty busy with announcements on twitter and the like, If it hasn't happened by 11pm......it isn't going to happen
