Do we have any? If so why are they letting the same posters to hijack every post with the anti Allam posts, then others join in the arguement and you get pages and pages of arugments both ways, with a few on topic posts thrown in.
People like to see a topic and follow it, not read pages and pages of back and forth arguing, hoping to see a relevant post thrown in here and there.
So, if we do have any moderators can you please try and sort this out, for everyones sanity.

I'm not sure which specific posts you're referring to, and I certainly don't read every thread, and I doubt the other mods do either, so we rely on posters making us aware of posts that are felt to be problematic.

As far discussions on the owners, it's not for mods to decide what can and cannot be posted, provided it's within the general forum rules. It's posters that decide between them what is and isn't appropriate.

Best bet is to hit the report button to bring it to a mods attention.

This forum is moderated far, far better than any other forum I use.

    By some considerable distance.

However, I don't want to come across all 'teacher's pet - here's an apple' etc, so...

...What a bunch of self-serving, 'I'm only in it for myself', money grabbing ****s, our Mods are.

Phew, my street cred is maintained.

I’m not sure it’s the moderators’ job to stop boring posters posting the same thing over and over and over again, often followed by a post saying “but it’s in the past now, let’s move on” or something similar. Posters of all different views are guilty of this, some seem to positively revel in this as a form of personal validation. Odd.

A question for all, as it's the posters not the mods that set the basic format of the board. Should certain threads be moderated more strictly to keep them on topic, and if so, which ones?

Personally, I think threads often drift, and that can be interesting in itself (as this one is doing already...), but I do appreciate that there are certain topics that could be kept more on topic, although there would still be an argument for how 'topical' it is to mention the owners in a transfer thread for example.

    Your thoughts?

Transfer threads for example should just be about transfers imo and nothing else. The constant back and forth on owners shouldn't be on that thread

If you moderate this site to within an inch of its ****ing life then we might as well pack the bastard in - the FOR and ANTI camps are set in stone, there's no changing it. personally, I think a totally, 100% football orientated site would be an absolute nightmare - perhaps those who want that could **** off and form their own?
    Just an idea ...

Add rugby league to politics and religion. That would confuse a few.

Bearing in mind that the owners affect almost all aspects of the club, it is rather difficult not to mention them. I appreciate that the presence or absence of curry sauce on fish may be a more popular subject but it doesn't have any relevance to transfers. The owners do. To be honest the lateral thinking nature of threads is, I find, often the most interesting, whereas the mindless repetition of a fixed position is often the most tedious.

But then is the transfer budget (or lack of) restrictions etc... and reasons behind this not relevant to a transfer thread?

Our transfer spend and whether or not we’re still under embargo are things that absolutely should be discussed on the transfer thread in my opinion.
