I had a text message from my doctors’ surgery this morning telling me that due to a national collection tube shortage they can only perform blood tests on critically ill patients.

What a ****ing triumph!

Isn't that down to a global shortage and already been going on a couple of weeks?

Seems to have been since the 10th August, or that was when Becton Dickinson, who make Vacutainers, first alerted the NHS. They blame a supply-chain problem, which could mean anything, but probably down to the increased demand from the pandemic.

The very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov came home from shopping today with bacon and sausages and started makings pigs in blankets which she has since frozen and put in the freezer for Christmas. Her comment to me was that there was no way she was gong to let a fat, lying, incompetent, corrupt arsehole of a Tory PM wreck another Christmas for her family. God bless her. I asked her where was the turkey and she said there were none in the shops so she had obviously been looking.

A YouGov poll from July 9 to August 10 asked respondents whether or not they have a favourable or unfavourable opinion of several world leaders.

Boris Johnson scored lower than his German, American, Canadian, French and Indian counterparts in the poll, only coming higher than Russia's Vladimir Putin and China's Xi Jinping.

In this household he is even less popular then the slugs on the cabbages in the vegetable garden.
