Watched the MOTD highlights and thought the quality of the crossing, in some games, was very good. The first 2 City goals, for example, came as a result of the ball being hit hard and low into the “corridor of uncertainty” creating chaotic defending with one OG and a fluke for Grealish. I hope Ralph has shown the video to our players, and further hope we are the ones, today, who make those sort of crosses and not the defensive errors.
True enough. But the Saints team is a level you would more or less expect for a club like us. That Arsenal XI is an absolute shambles for a club of their size and resources. Plus, that Arsenal 11 is probably worse than the 11 Saints put out today, at least the defence anyway!
Given the way our defence has been talked about on here and SW over the past week or so that really is saying something And it isn’t clear where their goals are coming from this season either. Perhaps they still have some signings to make but there still seem like a firm mid table side
Which is why highlighting only part of the sentence is not great. As they went on to specifically qualify the comment by mentioning the defence
I know this isn't their best XI, but I really don't understand Arsenal's transfer strategy this summer. They've spent serious money, and yet I struggle to see how it really improves them from last season.
Difficult to know what Arteta thinks at this early stage. But names to suggest would be Auba, White, Odegaard, Chambers or Bellerin, Partey, Gabriel. Maybe even Ramsdale (that's a lot of money to spend on a back up keeper). I don't think Lacazette, but others might.
