Just been on Look North.

Dame Diana Johnson just held a street surgery due to residents kicking off about the plethora of vagabonds and wino’s in the locality who aren’t behaving very well.

It’s going to be discussed in the Houses of Parliament apparently.

I went for something to eat down there last week and didn’t really notice anything to get worked up about, saying that I didn’t venture as far down as Westbourne House.

Is it getting that bad?

I'm quite upset that people see me in that light.

Maybe I should use Chants instead.

It's pot luck, sometimes you go down there and it's fine, others it's terrible.

I went for Sunday lunch at Rupert and Darwin a couple of months back and there were spiceheads staggering about all over the place.

I don’t think it has gotten any worse, it’s been the same since Westbourne House opened.
But what to do with the vagabonds and winos?

It said Westbourne House has up to 50 residents at any one time, if we’re being honest who would want that on their doorstep?

I know it’s clearly a case of nimbyism but **** that for a game of soldiers.

Might just be me but if anyone says they’d welcome them as neighbours I’d be surprised.

Unfortunately we didn’t get a choice. Still a great area though.

I believe Westbourne House was chosen by the council because there are a lot of do gooders round here and so they'll get complaints, but they won't get gangs of vigilantes sorting it out for themselves.

HCC get many, complaints, they get them all day long and it's so easy for them to just bin them.

If such a place had been opened on Orchard Park, then Orchard Park would have moved them out themselves.

As you all know, HCC work closely with Humberside Police.

This is a direct result of that.

During the lockdown we got a couple of BBQ packs, absolutely brilliant. I've been to the restaurant.

Remember when you ate a half eaten Pizza out of a street bin, Carmine? <laugh>

Didn’t Diana Johnson move to somewhere in London?

She used to live a few doors away from me, so it was a bit weird having her knocking on my door canvasing.

Lovely lass mind.

Was she Hull or Rovers or dint she say?

Often when I read about the lives that those who live in hostels have had and are having I’m not surprised they drink themselves to death and do hard drugs.
I was brought up in a 5 bedroom house on Newland Park and my folks have been together 50 years I’ve had a piss easy life when I’ve had a hard day Hull City have lost a football match.
