  3. If the comments from Spurs fans are right, this lad is going to set us up on that side of the pitch.
Just as a thought, IF Denver gets fit and we resign him,I wonder if he could play further up the pitch? I've always thought he was better attacking than defending,he has a decent left foot,he will go forward and take men on. With Dennis behind him, gives us another option on the left side?

Possibly, the thing about Hume tho for me is the fact he seems to be one who keeps picking up injuries, plays a bit , misses a few. Whatever he's wanting contract wise is surely gonna be reflected by this. Imo.

  5. Yes,I was speculating yesterday that he's had an injury that has never been properly fixed and he keeps getting other, more minor injuries because of this, and was hoping that his lengthy lay off is to get proper treatment to fix the real problem once and for all. Quite where that leaves his contract situation though,I don't know.
However,I do feel a fully fit Hume would be a decent left side attacking option.

Seems very likely that Cirkin is going to be first choice LB so I could see Hume playing further forward and potentially becoming a bit of a utility player down the left.

If Cirkin is pacey him and Hume could be a nightmare together.

  7. Was thinking about this yesterday. Cirkin has joined us and come into a completely different environment from that which he is used to,and at only 19 years of age. We've already added Doyle, who's only 17.
I wonder what role the club plays as they arrive in helping them to settle....accommodation, transport, potential loneliness and so on?
Different clubs probably have different policies to it...genuinely don't know how it all works with us?

The club will likely have a player liasion officer to help all players.

Isolation mate, heard Doyle isn't allowed out of his apartment for two years. Only for games and training he is allowed out and he's fed with milkshakes and raw meat.

It gives us options, that for sure (fa shoowa). It'd be nice to have a selection dilemma that is "wow, which one do we pick" rather than "FFs, they're both ****e" which has been the wider narrative at SAFC for the last few years

It's things like this that will give us another advantage when negotiating deals imo. We are paying cash up front and all of the behind the scenes stuff has had loads of investment. Even things like the fact we offered Willis a new deal to look after the lad even though we know he won't play during this season and we are also helping Hume with his recovery when he technically isn't our player. It all screams 'proper club' and that will be talked about positively within the game.

I have said from KLD coming in the days of signing players because they have “league 1 experience” should be over. We are looking for next level players or above who want to be here to buy into the club and enable us to achieve our ambitions. I expect nothing less than a stellar campaign this time out, we have been ****e for too long.
Just need to finish the window strongly with more of the same kinds of signings and we won’t have much to worry about the results will come.

He had plenty opportunity to sign up and he’s gone and shot himself in the foot and Hume in both feet. His position has been weakened massively now. When will players and agents realise what the game is at this level.

One of the things I noticed from O'Niens interview when he signed on was his reference to mentoring young players. I cant remember exactly his words but be talked about experienced lads needing to play that sort of role. I would like to think this is part of it and someone like O'Nien, who has made a similar move, will spend time with him away from the training ground to get him settled in.
