Booked up for Greece next May and hoping things are more back to normal by then. If anybody fancies an all inclusive holiday with a bit of luxury, I'd thoroughly recommend this lot:

https://ikosresorts.com/

We've been to the Oceania one pre-pandemic, and we're going next to Aria. It's not cheap up front, but when you consider the standard of what you're getting, and that you don't have to put your hand in your pocket from the moment you arrive until you leave, it's actually really good value. It even includes a day when you can take one of their Minis and go off for an explore.
Yeah I know about those resorts very nice
However we just stick to the modest accommodation
And mix with the locals we have met some lovely people

Looks like the government is going to take the piss again
People from America and some from Europe will not have to isolate
However it looks like there going to put some med countries in a so called amber plus
That means there will change it to red when you get there

Would love to know the response when people haven’t got £1700 each to pay for the hotel. It’s a money making racket, absolutely dispicable

You know what was bantered about
Green_amber_amber plus_red
That was if you went on holiday in an amber you had a good chance of completing that holiday because it would have to go to amber plus
First before it went to red
Now after pressure for the travel industry to keep it simple Boris has stated it will be
Geen_amber_red to keep it simple
Now you go on holiday to an amber country it could change to red when you are there
People don’t understand the traffic light system
There saying it’s better
However in reality it’s worse
We are not prepared to take a chance and go to an amber country
Maybe we would of if we had the cushion of the amber plus in between
People interfering has made worse

People interfering has made worse

It's done for the benefit of the tourism industry cos people were shying off booking any amber plus. Aimed at keeping the potential tourist in the dark and going ahead and booking without realising the risk.[/QUOTE]

Yeah but having an amber plus you would know you were chancing it
Now amber you are chancing it with bo in between

We going to have
Green. Amber. Amber watch. Red
That would of ment you have a cushion between amber and red
Now you don’t

its all very confusing, would be nice to have some clear guidance. my missus has decided categorically she's not leaving the UK in 2021, so if i plan any trips abroad, "your'e on your own"......so i'm meeting the lads one day next week to decide where and get booked up! can't ****ing wait.<ale><ale><ale>

Anybody any tips on cheaper parking at the airport? I nearly choked when I seen how much for 2 weeks parking, it’s a joke

Been trying mate, nothing valid. Told our lass and the bairn to get in shape because we will be cycling there and back at those prices
I had a quick look when you posted and it was about 90 quid. Is that what you were being quoted? That's shot up from the last time I used it. I normally use the one right next to the terminal, the meet and greet I think it's called and it wasn't 90 quid last time.

Short stay 1 is quoted at £102. By my reckoning it’s gone up £30, it’s a rip off mate

Sure I only payed about 60 for 10 days meet and greet. That whole airport is a rip off tbh. I've saved money going from Edinburgh before and having an overnight stay before the flight and that includes parking and petrol. Mental. Hope you get sorted.

Anyone still got any holidays abroad booked for this year? Are they still happening? I've got 2 weeks in Turkey still booked but not looking good tbh. Just wondering what people are doing. Price's have gone right up for a 'staycation' at home.

You are not wrong, my son and I have paid a fortune for two weeks in sand dune cottage, they have stuck another grand on the price for next year.. that may be beyond the pail.

As for Turkey, good for golf, but not this year though.

Loads of Brits on the Costa Del Sol this past few weeks, I understand what Smug is saying about not going abroad again but the weather is the determining factor when peeps are arranging hollies. I couldn't do cold for 9 months of the year again, rain all the time and bleak grey days without some summer sun is not for me.

Med too hot in the summer, for the missus

I like the Canaries in February

It is hot here but I'm right on the coast, half a mile away, so we get a nice sea breeze most days. We could do with some heavy rain for a day or two though cos we are seeing lots of fires breaking out.
