Delaneys experience would be invaluable too. We have brought in quite a few youngsters and that balance is always important, particularly in that position.

Andrew Surman without a club maybe we should sign him up as another wise head for the development squad?

might just be me being sentimental as never wanted him to leave the club but know why he left and it help keep the club alive until we were saved by Liebherr

I saw this blog post which I thought quite interesting.

Being a fans blog it was obviously Chelsea focused but you could change Chelsea to any of the big clubs. Young players are no longer prepared to wait for their chance. Jadon Sancho led the way here. As clubs can only loan max 8 players alot of them are moving on.

Question is do clubs like Chelsea continue to develop players and not give them a chance and sell them on for a profit or take on less players allowing talented young players to go to other clubs?

Also should youth players go to clubs like Chelsea who have a very good youth setup with no obvious path to the first team and limited opportunities to go on loan, learn their craft and move on or go to a club like Saints where it is easier to get first team football once they have finished their football education?

A 15 year old left Saints to go to Man City this summer. Is he going to spend 3 years there and move on or wait until he gets a chance if he ever does?

Chelsea fans are saying they will be keeping an eye on Broja and Livramento this season, as if he is essentially just on loan.

Indeed they do, its a reasonably good deal for us if he produces; but for them it's peanuts, that's why they're seeing it as just an another type of loan.

Somebody mentioned that there is a cap on loans now of 8. Will make these long term type loans with buy backs much more common

Will also **** up my football manager experience where I loan out about 70 players a season
