A complete farce in the Ellerslie today. Arrived at 14:20 to find the queue already all the way down Ellerslie Road. Finally got into the ground having missed the first 10 minutes of the game. The best part of an hour to get into the ground!! So much for the successful trial then. Hardly any stewards on hand to manage things including the inevitable queue jumping. I'm pretty sure if this was in South Africa Road the kick off would have been delayed as there were hundreds still in the queue after I got in and who missed much of the first half despite turning up in good time. This is how Hillsborough happened for %*&! sake. Only QPR could screw things up so badly. The club should be ashamed of it's lack of professionalism.
Ironically, I signed up for the trial on the QPR app with my season ticket. Got an email saying to make sure I update the app Saturday morning. Got an email later on the morning apologising saying the app won't be ready and won't work. But it did work, first time.
Used my digital one in my apple wallet no problem at all. Good to not have to try to remember the physical one anymore
Worked fine for me but the queues were very bad. Quite a few people I saw struggled to follow the instructions the scan their code…….
Worked fine and I scanned in a screenshot of the QR code that I taken about 10 days ago. Queues were long.
I don't think I needed the instructions, but my attempts failed nonetheless. Same for a lot of others as far as I could see. Pretty chaotic.
It was fine getting into the loft turnstiles via sth Africa rd entrance, glad i don’t sit in Ellerslie stand by what’s gone on here
The tech actually worked fine for me but it seemed like every other person was having a problem. It's worth remembering that there's actually very few turnstiles for the Ellerslie and it doesn't take much for the whole entrance to be in chaos. As I said, if these sort of problems occurred on the other side of the ground the kick off would have been delayed for sure but I doubt anyone with any influence even knew this was going on in our unloved corner of the ground. The club has extrapolated out from some piss ball trial and got their assumptions totally wrong. The situation could easily have become dangerous as well as being ridiculously frustrating. Really angry tonight and feel totally let down by those in charge.
As I walked towards Ellerslie Road from Abdale Road I could see the queue back to Loftus Road. Sod that I thought, I sauntered up the left hand pavement and budged into the queue. Although it still took a while, I didn't miss kick off. I can't understand why everyone didn't do the same? I also secured six free QPR scarves and sold my spare tickets for £85 each. Happy days
I'm not blaming you and the club really should have had enough stewards to control things but you and hundreds like you are the reason why me and hundreds of other suckers DID miss the kick off. Still, every man for himself and good to see we don't let silly things like consideration for others and potential stadium disasters spoil a day out. Cheers.
I was only joking mate. I never did any of the above. I did get into the stadium just before kick off. It was a complete shambles though and the club have tried to apologise for getting it completely wrong.
According to TerryB who used to post on here your QR code (if it works at all) can get you in at any entrance, no matter where you sit. Shame he didn’t tell me before I enjoyed the traditional death trap bottle neck to get into the Upper Loft, made worse today because of the scanning fiasco and the weird merging of queues for the Loft and the Paddock. Terry, Beth and former poster Roller had sauntered to their seat via the Loftus Road entrance, which they got to without me because I desperately required chips.
When I renewed memberships for me and the lad, I received an email informing me that the electronic ticketing was suspended until further notice and that we'd need to print off any tickets or show the etickets email on our phone at the turnstiles. Clearly confusion is reigning.
Out of curiosity why did TelB stop posting ? He was always a good read and very knowledgeable, as well as being a really nice man in real life.
From the club website.... QPR v Millwall: Entry issues THE CLUB are aware of entry problems which occurred from 2.50pm at turnstiles on South Africa Road and Ellerslie Road ahead of today’s Sky Bet Championship encounter with Millwall. We experienced a number of issues for which we would like to apologise. These problems have been identified and will be rectified ahead of our next home fixture with Barnsley on 21st August. All supporters who gained entry after 3pm today through the affected turnstiles will be contacted directly by the club next week
Apparently Liverpool had huge issues with their scanning system for their friendly with Bilbao today and had to delay kick off by 30 minutes. Could be a provider issue.
