1-1, without George we’ll have to probably turn to George for some inspiration in midfield. That would be my guess as his replacement, keeps it easier too for those shouts George.
Also without Tom signing, it might mean that Tom comes on late in the second half if Josh is knackered.

And so it begins again .. difficult one to start with .. seems we'll be missing 2 key components from our promotion side in gorgeous George and Elder .. think it'll be a hurdle to high first up, but ya never know. C'mon City .. let's av it !

Currently thirteenth.

By the end of tonight we could be occupying a promotion place to the promised land of milk and honey, or staring down the barrel of back from whence we came.

Typical City. No consistency - all over the place.

2-1 to us.

Scorers? The usual suspects.

It's raining here in Preston and has done for the last 24 hours. They'll still water the pitch.

I am hopeful for this season. When we won the Championship in 1966, we didn't move on. That team was predominantly based on the attack and the weaknesses in defence were never really remedied. Whilever we we scoring a lot, nobody was bothered if we let some in. I think today's team is much better balanced and will do well as a result of that.

I worry that our start will be slow without Honeyman. He will be better this time than the last Championship campaign where he was doing the work of all three in midfield.

We'll need somebody to boss midfield in Honeyman's absence. It'll be interesting to see who fancies that role, I don't see any obvious candidate just yet.

Always hard away from home especially now crowds are back, however it’s great to have that Saturday football feeling again. Our defence will be under much more pressure this season, still inexperienced at this level so let’s hope they adjust quickly. A draw would be a massive result for me today. UTT.
