Yeh football insider reporting he’s having his medical this weekend. 6 figure initial fee (not £1.3m) they also say a “long term contract” agreed
Would be nice if he came up, had medical, watched the game at SOL and then scarf photo tomorrow morning.
In a way, having no left back at all has enabled this Cirkin deal because he’s guaranteed 40+ first team games and who knows, maybe it’s his quicker route to premier league football if we get it right in the next few years. It seems a great deal, we want him and we can give him what he wants. That also works for right back so any ambitious rb (Key?) should see this as a great move. CB and striker positions open and waiting. Other teams already have players in these positions so it could put off someone looking for first team football. There. A positive spin on our lack of first team players.
there’s genuinely more in that than just spin. historically we have been a club that hordes players and wants 3 players per position. Young players must have looked at us and thought “why?”. that’s going to change
didn’t Hume have until yesterday to decide? LJ says he wants 2 to cover each position so it could be we have both, which would be excellent as this is a squad game.
Wouldn't surprise me if we publicise what's happening with Hume, either way, once Cirkin or another left back is confirmed. I think the club will know by now. I'm surprised no one asked Johnson when he was on press duties yesterday. Maybe they were asked not to.
Think the club will announce what Hume is doing one way or the other shortly after Cirkin is announced.
Good riddance. Far too injury prone and in my opinion not good enough anyway to be leaving us hanging on for the best part of 2 months waiting on an answer.
I couldn’t care less of Hume goes personally. I just haven’t seen anything consistent to say he’s gonna be a great loss.
