Looks like we are interested in a guy from Spurs, presumably as we are worried Willock is not going to happen.

Newcastle have expressed an interest in signing England Under-21 midfielder Oliver Skipp, 20, on loan from Tottenham. (Mail)

It’s from the Mail so it could be rubbish.

It would be appropriate though if we hired a Skipp so we could get rid of Shelvey.

It's probably true.

I don't know anything about him

Probably fewer than you'd think

There's going to be money starting to move around now because of the grealish sale.. I suspect nufc as always has made it's bid and arsenal are sitting in what they feel isn't enough and I fear another club will move late and offer more

I don't. I just think Arsenal want a permanent deal and Willock isn't convinced to join us. I don't blame him.

That's just Luke Edwards that wants to push that narrative rather than criticise the club imo.

Edwards loves Ashley and Bruce

I don't read his ****. I draw conclusions from all information I see. And I see that he doesn't want to sign permanently. Arsenal want him sold. This be the issue.

Personally I'm more concerned we've put all our eggs in this one basket that still leaves us lighter than we were last year.

Are you just going to ignore the fact he said he wants to be at Newcastle

Realistically we have to expect the worst here. The other movements will decide this lads future, and there is nothing our manager, owner or anyone associated with the club can do about it. Bar Ashley going on a spending spree but even that probably wouldn't work.

Moves are afoot with Grealish, Maddison etc. Until those moves are finalised Willock won't be deciding anything. If he has Leicester, Arsenal or Villa as a realistic option then it really won't matter what we offer.

We are screwed on this one. You'd hope we have others lined up for when Willock/Arsenal make a decision. If its positive then great, but if as expected he has better options we need to move quick. @JakartaToon has mentioned one already and after a great season last year, Spurs will be keen to see how Skipp steps up to the top level. I think its the energy of Willock we'd need to match though, that drive really changed us aside from his goals.

I’ve read that Arsenal
Have accepted an offer from us of £25m and it’s actually Willock who is unsure and he would rather it be a loan.

I would imagine he has the likes of Leicester and Villa contacting his agent as they try to offset the chance of Maddison or Grealish going, he's just playing the game they all do. I have no doubt we'd shell the money in this instance because we know he's probably gonna end up with great resale value. The fee won't be a problem. Persuading him we are his best option, regardless of how much he enjoyed it, I think will be tricky. For instance Leicester looked CL for much of last season.
