I think the split squad's is a much better way, it's about getting as many mins into the full squad as possible. And more games helps that.
The gelling is done on the training ground and most the new lads have been here since the start of pre-season. On the opening day, 9 out of the 11 are likely to have been here last season too so there's not much gelling which needs to be done
'a under 23 side' ??? Its Man U under 23's. They could hold their own in the Championship as you well know.
Because your not impressed over three very low key friendlies, I am, I think we look decent and have some good young signings.

To be honest if we're going to be **** i'd rather it be now than on the 7th august and beyond, imho i hope over the next week we bring in some experience, still think if we get one or two injuries we will struggle all I'm hoping for this season is survival , its been a strange preseason with all these split squad's, but then again its strange time's we live in.

I thought we were steady away at sunderland, magennis was a bit isolated , i think we need to find a position for josh Emmanuel and lewie Coyle.

It’s always the objective of a footballer to win football matches whether that’s a kick a bout in the park with your mates or pre-season games what Grants wants from the games I’m sure will differ.
