I agree a Premier League club is bought as a status thing which is why Short bought us but we aren't a Premier League club now and pumping in Premier League money into the running of a League One club is madness Getting the club onto the right track has to be the first thing to do in the situation we have been left in, surely?
Why on earth do you think you have to pump in premiership money to get a league one team promoted. You could get them promoted for the cost of one crap premier league player.
Agree with all of that mate, but I think we need another striker as well (2 if we can get rid of Grigg and AOB)
I know we are all a bit worried about our squad at the minute but trust me we are in for good players and will spend money if it's right for the long term. Weakest position for me remains keeper whoever we play there will make mistakes and cost us points.
Of course you can. Although we haven't done so in the past, and somehow on the internet the solution has become to do exactly the same again - just pay them what they want has been a disaster for us repeatedly. They come in, they're crap, and we can't shift them. You don't need to break the bank to get out of this division, you need to recruit properly and not leave yourself with a load of L1 players on top money in the Championship and no room to manoeuvre.
Which is why they've not bought anyone yet, I expect. We'll be getting offered every loafer and nincompoop in the league because we're seen as a soft touch.
i am now struggling to think of a reason to be still giving hume more time, he is 'officially' not part of the squad as has no contract with the club (i presume, anyway) yet we are possibly helping him with his injury, which could include some rehab, use of facitlities, club specialists etc etc yet he could still decide not to re-sign, we have knocked back a replacement LB and could be left even further in the sh1te than we are now...i can only think that he is on very low wages and any replacement will be on much more. i am starting to worry that it is waiting for him to decide that is interfering with our recruitment of a LB...i would rather we had someone ready to play then at least we have our bases covered. ...by the way, some are saying the reason we pulled out of the move was because hume had re-signed and that liverpool 'wanted a few grand'...wondering what the next speculated 'reason' will be, love a good soap me like.
Been in back to back meetings all day so thought I'd log in and see who we have been linked with this morning. looks like no change? even tho its a Friday?!?!?
could be personal. might have a family member with cancer. might have cancer himself. nobody knows. I reckon we cut the lad some slack until we find out what is going on.
Which is my argument for being patient while the window is still open that we I’m talking about the running of the club. I don’t believe for one second that one player, however good they are, will ever make a team! you need to have the balance right to let them players flourish, so putting all your eggs in one basket is a no from me!
I need to realise that me constantly checking here, RTG and Twitter isn't actually going to speed anything up that's going on behind the scenes I'm pretty sure by the time whatever is going on has finished we will have what LJ needs, if not Speakman will have to answer to KLD as to we he wasn't able to deliver. We generally get more detailed updates after a game recently so hoping to hear something positive from Johnson in his post match interview tonight. Can't wait to be back in the SOL again this evening
Love the first sentence, not so much the second. We're very weak at full back, particularly left side, and at centre back. Whoever is in goal will make mistakes when playing behind our current available defenders imo.
I can't wait for the season to start. Even if sign nobody else, once the season starts the mood will improve. right now people are bored and have nothing to think about but transfers.
