Got something on my phone about a young man City midfield player called Doyle that some 10 championship sides are looking at a loan. One is us. Probably a load of *ollocks, as I'm not itk. Would still rather sign the rupperts bloke.
Just seen a tweet from official QPR news, quoting Warburton saying that Todd Kane isn't in his plans moving forward.
Cracking interview. Like many, I took a while to warm to Warburton but now I'm really happy he's with us. Seems an intelligent, top bloke.
Intelligence never in doubt. Its whether he could sustain a club and move it forwards. Hopefully he can!
I’m sure he’s aware that most managers have a life-cycle at a club. The SAF/Wenger reigns are as rare as hens teeth in this modern era. It’s good to see us having a reasonable longevity with a manager and the progression. I also like his assertiveness with players which feels firm but fair, respect without pandering, growing players and understanding they may move on if right price comes in (opportunity for club first and player if agreed). It does feel that the progressive nature of the club isn’t just the manager. It seems to be a good example of board, the manager and the coaches working off the same sheet for once, without too many egos ruining our plans. This year feels like a test of their planning as progress takes us to the edge of play-off opportunity. How strong is their nerve; how will they react if it doesn’t come off as everyone hopes?
That's a great interview, both the questions posed by Clive and Warburtons replies. Makes you feel that the club is finally back on the rails
Tom Carroll training with Derby County. Do they have a transfer embargo in place or did I just dream that?
Transfer embargo has had elements lifted I believe, they can only loan or free transfer or out of contract I think but not too sure
Carroll is a free agent releases by us when he didnt accept our offer. It's reported that they already have 8 other free agents including Ravel Morrison training with them. I've heard of all of them! I don't think any transfer embargo stops a Club signing free agents.
It doesnt. I was pretty sure they had a transfer embargo and thought it likely that the reason they were interested in Carroll was the fact that no transfer fee was involved. Eight other free agents.....how the mighty have fallen, maybe Rooney will take a pay cut.
No one rule for them one for us. They did...but the EFL decided it was unfair as it involved their u23 playing due to a Covid outbreak at the club...and they thought it was justified...They also only had a low number of fully professional players ( not u23) and no senior CB and 4 GK so about 5 days ago their transfer embargo was lifted.
It does make you wonder, well us QPR fans anyway as it seems everyone else can do what they like and behave with reckless abandon when it comes to finances yet the deterrent punishment meted out to QPR is somehow always deemed unnecessary when it comes to other transgressors who gamble. So what lesson did other clubs learn? How to cheat and get away with it? At least we know that WRDC will make exactly the same mistakes we did. A team full of has-beens and players who were once in the reserve squads of some big clubs. Go for it boys. It worked out sooooooooooo well for us. I'm sure when WR leaves or is forced out they'll look no further than someone like Rio Ferdinand.
John Eustace being touted for the Swansea job again.. he didn't get it last time...will he be offered it this time. How much will me miss him, or is he just the mouthpiece for Warbs, is there someone else to take his place
