The problem for the football club is similar to the city: we are too far from the corridors of power an too weak demographically and economically to count. We are an afterthought. There are no big-hitters fighting our cause; all w can muster is Chi Onwurah and Ant & Dec. It's dog eat dog and we are a malnourished three-legged cockapoo.

It's a good position to be in compared to when they withdrew.

Twelve things that will happen before this takeover goes through......

  1. Albert will buy everyone on here a drink to celebrate his granddaughter's wedding
  2. HS2 will finally reach the North East
  3. Trev will finally talk sense (unfortunately it will be a quote on his headstone)
  4. Jimmy will celebrate his 200th birthday
  5. Roland will experience a day where he feels happy
  6. Jak will give up his Manure season ticket
  7. Ben10 will finally admit Ben Arfa was a fat waste of space
  8. Pouchy will renounce ****ishness, spend a year living in a monastry and then take up a position as PR spokesperson for Pfeizer
  9. HDQ's tent will rot to nothingness
  10. DPP will retire, grow a ponytail and moan about teacher's pensions
  11. Windy will finally hit the jackpot and get an ITK prediction right
  12. The 2016-17 prediction league still won't be updated
