Don't know if it was mentioned on here, haven't read back, but why was Grealish pulled?

Looked fine to me bit there.could have been an injury.

It looked at the time a pure southgate negativity move. Packed 5 defenders and 2 blockers in and knew denmark were spent.

In the end he clearly doesn't trust grealish

I should add if the italians did it nobody would bat an eyelid. After all not was easy once the danes ran about for 5mins and fell apart wheezing

I do agree with z though. He could have "rested" one of the two but he played them to the end.

120mins.

Have to agree on Sterling. I was very impressed with young Saka, (obviously not in contention for the tournament team), other than that I thought they were a bit robotic, stayed in position and did their jobs.

yeah, Saka has been excellent.

If Robotic wins the tournament then I’ll take it but I know what you mean. Italy are a different proposition to anything v we’ve faced so far.

I don't think it was embarrassing for him tbh. Everyone knows he wasn't taken off because he was playing ****.

We had the pen already. Imo he was taken off as like when he plays for villa he simply isnt a dig in type of guy.

Sterling will do his job but all you get out of grealish is a flop over when the ball comes his way.

Schemicheal
Dumfries bonnuci kjaer spinazola
Pogba busquets jorginho
Sterling schick chiesa

Also think Donnarumma has been brilliant in goal for Italy.

Clearly a tactical sub.

Its Extra time, you've got the lead, you hold the lead.

Grealish is a ****e defender, not to say he couldn't have offered the chance to fall over and win freekicks to disrupt the play. But Kane wins headers in defence and Sterlings pace gets you into the far end corner.

Bar busquets and pogba sure. I'd argue kdb over pogba.

Pogba been absolute quality this tournament. And busquets has run the show for Spain in middle of pitch.

don’t think kdb did anything for Belgium this tournament? Was injured for half of it and don’t remember him doing much else.

Pogba scored and then swanned around cos he was gods gift in his head and what happened to France? He will always let his side down.

Kdb did plenty, Portugal beaten and dominated group.

Busquets has done OK but he can't get about, it's hard to call with jorginho in there whether to shout for a proper no 6 type or another like delaney or a more creative like pedri.

Or even at lb. Shaw, spinnozola, but Rodriguez for Switzerland deserves a shout

You must have watched diff games as pogba was creative and dominated middle of the pitch for France. If not for better finishing could have had 3 or 4 more assists.

kdb missed first game, made difference in second and then was alright the rest.

Busquets ran the show, Dno what your on about can’t get about. He didn’t need to run around like Kante to be a good player. Everything went through him, passing was on another level and no one got near him.

Shaw been decent, but spinazola was stand out player until his injury.

Maybe not embarrassing but even if it was tactical, he was still the one subbed on and off and it is quite rare, isn't it?

it made sense if wanted to go 5 at the back as can’t take kane off and sterling offers the pace to run ball up pitch.

what annoys me is all the media hailing now Southgate has the nasty side to him that’s needed by doing it. Hardly, just means he wanted to shut up shop and was the only logical sub to make at the time.
