If he starts Rice and Phillips together with Mount ahead and if Sterling starts I hope Italy win we deserve to go home.

No kneeling, no 'Sweet Caroline', no laser pens, no diving, no booing of the Italian national anthem, no facepainted goons or selfie-takers in the crowd, will make it a very enjoyable occasion.

A fair and deserved win will top it off, **** all the 'years of hurt' victimhood bollox.

It was 'Sweet Caroline', because the PA blasted it and drowned the chances of any other natural chant getting going. It's pretty much creating performing seals for the TV viewers.

And nicked off the Northern Ireland fans too

When Wembley stadium reopened, just for a laugh, I enquired about buying a five year pass in the cooperate section. Those two sections on either side of the tunnel, that are NEVER full. From memory I was quoted £250k for one seat and £400k for two. I didn't pursue the offer.

When the stadium opened, you could only buy ten year passes and I was one of the first people to sign up, so managed to get six front row seats near the halfway line in Club Wembley (they cost £300k over the ten years).

There's often empty seats now, but there weren't then, there were barely any empty corporate seats until the ten years ended and thousands didn't renew.

Dont get why people are so snobbish about stuff like Sweet Caroline, weve had months of empty soulless stadiums, now we have 50/60k joyous fans belting out something , i personally dont care what they sing, they could sing Cotton Eyed Joe for all i care , it just sounds great to hear it and see the players embracing it.
honestly think some people prefer it when things are going ****.

Agreed, it was brilliant seeing absolutely everyone join in at the Germany and Denmark games.

I have heard the P.A will be blasting out something a bit more topical on Sunday evening.

Tom Petty's 'Free Fallin' has been specifically chosen in an un-biased attempt to Unite both nations style of play...:emoticon-0110-tongu

It's not so much 'snobbish' about the song, it's more the manufactured aspect of them belting out the music at high volumes to orchestrate things. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I prefer the spontaneous aspect of crowd involvement rather than a Last Night of the Proms orchestrated effort..

EDIT to add, it tainted the Wembley visits for me.
