So finally after so many years England are into a final by the South Gate.

AFAIK he is the first England manager to have had his team
reach at least the SFs of two consecutive international tournaments.

Some feat perhaps giving the comparative meh of the MF
creativity he has had to work with during his reign.

Kane's do not come along very often. I imagine what Robson or Venables or Clough would have done with this group of players. Or even Redknapp. Perhaps he deserves a bit more praise than Pep does at City. But his negativity reminds me of Ramsey when we won the world cup he too was a negative bastard, perhaps that's the secret with English players.
I prefer progressive football.

Mate I haven’t come down off the roof yet, I’ve had Sweet Caroline on repeat for the last 2 hours. Mental feeling

I was so off my trolley mate. No idea how much we drunk, ended up at our mate’s sister’s gaff till about 4am after the pub. Feel like I’ve been hit by a truck but well worth it.

how do arr

how do you arrive at that conclusion?

From the comments and lack of enthusiasm that our country has just got to a major final for the first time in 55 years.

Talking about the style of play and possible diving and belittling the massive achievement by Gareth and the boys.

Enjoy the moment, this doesn’t happen often (possibly could be waiting another 50odd years)

It’s coming home!!!

Irish, Scottish and Welsh people are so salty about England <laugh><laugh><laugh>

As you may know I’ve lived by Glasgow for a few years now, all tournament I’ve had people I know up here give me banter about how England would do their usual and get dumped out in the quarters or semis. Now the banter is less funny and you can feel their worry, jealousy and hatred towards the English national team coming through <laugh>

I accept it but find it baffling. To me this tournament has been a welcome distraction from the cynical world of club football. It feels like it has united people, giving people something to smile about considering what we’ve all lost in the last 18months thanks to this virus and the restrictions we’ve had imposed.

To me, this is sport at its finest and showing that life can be good.

I don't buy into that flag waving stuff I'm afraid. As far as I am concerned it's a game not a representation of some national pride.

Given that there is no universal moral/social code, by definition
there are going to be some (eg me) who are unhappy that the
Sterling incident may be the means by which England won the game.

Hopefully a similar/worse incident will not decide the outcome
of the final for the winner.

by distracting us with the cynical world of international football
(corona quarantine regimes - and violations thereof by UEFA "VIPs" -
determining where games are played etc) .

This comment actually represents all that is wrong with the use of international sport by governments and dictators and corporations. From the post empire 'coming home' nonsense to the 'our boys and our country bollocks.
