We should be winning though even if you ignore home advantage. If we lose the final, so long as we play well, it's still an amazing performance and would hopefully be cheered appropriately. To make it to the final weekend of two tournaments in a row would be worthy of all the praise they get.[/QUOTE] having followed England home and away since late 80s, getting to a semi and beating a Tier 1 team in 90 mins makes it a decent tournament. Anyway let's hope we get further than a semi. Off to pub now.
They made it to the semi's in fairness but it's not like they just struggled against Croatia they struggled past almost everyone. In 90 minutes their tournament is DDWDDD, if they had made it to the final with only actually winning one game in normal time (and only 2 overall) that would have been sort of impressive. We drew with rivals in a feisty game (for which the British media acted like we'd lost) and have won all our other games, if we'd drawn with Sweden, Poland, Swiss, Croatia, etc I suspect the media would be pulling us apart in the same way the Spanish media were doing to their team. I'm not saying Spain are a terrible team or that they'd had a terrible tournament but when you look at their form and how they're playing you'd have to have been confident against them. Thought they did much better last night than i was expecting.
you mean like how portugal pretty much won it last euros? Even with that crap form, if you had said would you rather face Spain in their rocky form or against Denmark, Ukraine i don't think anyone would pick Spain and that is the point of this argument. Belgium and Germany i would say is fairly balanced although on numbers Belgium is the harder team.
Agreed. Italy should be considered favourites to whoever reaches the final. Think we'll win 2-1 tonight.
I reckon Belgium would have knocked us out to be honest. Spain are only marginally higher ranked than Denmark (when you take out the none European teams i think there's only Italy between them), whilst rankings are only the roughest of guides I can honestly say that I think a Spain team in it's current form versus a Denmark team in theirs is a close call. Denmark have looked great for their past few games, hopefully that changes tonight. Anyway, doesn't really matter now. 3 teams left, down to only two in a few hours.
What's this Kev! I show no malice to my English brothers! How very dare you! I'm the first to wipe the window whenever I see a Nigel so they don't get any germs when they lick it! GSTQ!
