"The fans will be singing all the way home," said former England defender Rio Ferdinand on BBC One. "What a moment, my kids are here and it is a beautiful moment to be here, given what we have all been through as a country with the pandemic, this is fantastic to see.

"We have been waiting for this. To feel the energy in here. It is the stuff of dreams. This will live on forever."

I must have missed something.

Jack Grealish has the most assists and has won the most fouls for England at the Euros so far.

He’s only played 115 of the possible 360 minutes of football
.

Not much of a target on the assists front, we've only scored four and he's assisted two

not hard though is it.

Flop over, win a free in midifeld, rinse and repeat.

tap the ball across the 6 yard box.

what a life :)

We might as well be praising pickford for routine saves. He made one look spectacular that was really just a very routine palm the ball over the bar. the save off wrner was decent but not astounding given the angles favoured him.

One of the reasons I despair over modern football attitudes - that "winning" fouls (presumably it means free kick) is seen as a positive aim. Something to be actively sought rather than compensation for a move illegally frustrated.

He's only got little arms though so palming the ball over is quite an achievement for him.

I was right about the German fallout. Kroos the first to retire from international. I expect Hummels, Muller and Neuer to follow in the next few weeks. Nothing left for them to conquer with Germany.
