Who'd you think they'd rather face going on this?
tbh either

Neither looks great, Ukraine are highly dependant on Yarmalenko and Sweden on Forsberg, both of whom can easily be shut down.
Then there is the fact they'll have just played 120mins with alot of players taking heavy knocks (some of whom are likely to miss at least the next game)

England should be overwhelming favourites to get to the SF.

Sweden look like they are organised enough to frustrate though...

Yer right though ... either way..

I'd have preferred Sweden, they've got fitter women <cheers>

Seriously though, Ukraine are quite a big strong side.

Am I the only one that thought that red was a joke?

Ball is there, guy volleys it clear and then Ukraine player pretty much runs into his foot. Absolutely zero malice, wasn’t even a tackle, much like the one in the prem back end of this season (possibly West Ham?) where guy just cleared the ball and then caught player in the leg as his foot was retuning to the ground!

I don’t understand what refs want players to do, it’s almost like you have to kick the ball with no follow through these days in case someone comes within 2 foot of you andyou make contact. Same thing with players jumping and their arms touching opposition becoming an automatic yellow <doh>

I thought it was just me.
Commentators were reeling out their "horror tackle" phrases, deserved red and so on but I saw it like you. Unfortunate for the Uke player - it looked a nasty injury, but in real time it just looked like a clearance that ended up in an accidental collision. Not malicious, not reckless, just unlucky.
The slow-mo replay on telly really made it look worse, as they so often do, so maybe the ref was going by that.
