I honestly don’t think we will look at any player coming in and be doing cartwheels I think they will be total nobodies but will fit the position required perfectly or I hope so.
Tbh since we got relegated I’ve not know a great deal about many we’ve signed. We need to judge on performance not our limited knowledge or the fans they have just left

I'm quite happy to just let the club go quietly on with their Summer transfer business.
Most Summer signing contracts start July 1st
Only 4 days away though.

Got to say that with LJ not having a summer break, not watching Euro 2020 and him talking to prospective players on video chats that I am a bit troubled by the fact that we haven't announced any signings.

You genuinely believe him when he said that? <laugh> He’s talking ****e.

of course he is, any football manager who hasn't watched any euro games can't be switched on IMO, even if it's just for fresh ideas. mind if he said he'd been too busy visiting kebab shops I'd believe him, he's piled the beef on since he came here, been on the pie-plus diet I reckon.

Why would he lie about it ?
Nothing to gain and too much to lose if he is.
Not saying your wrong but it's a hollow accusation imo.

He'll know that people will be expecting him to be looking for players and studying tactics, etc ...

... admitting that he hasn't watched won't do him any favours.

I'd be surprised if any manager hasn't watched the Euros but if he's busy trying to get players in and tie up contracts I'd be more surprised at him lying about something so trivial.

Anyways we're not gonna sign anyone playing there.
I see on the poocastle forum some are hoping to sign the star players lol <laugh>

Let's be honest, if he said he'd been sitting at home watching all the games people would be moaning that he's not at work sorting the squad out ...

... everything is analysed to death these days tbh.

LJ is a football fan like the rest of us. He may not have watched every match, but he'll be keeping up with it.

Gabbiadini and Phillips were put down by fans of the club that they left ...

... I'd heard of neither.
Was arguing with my dad last night about this. He said “we’re Sunderland, not Wigan or Accrington “ and that seems to be the attitude of a lot of fans. It’s bordering on arrogance.

we know nothing of the players because we don’t watch this level. We know of players who are highly rated by their clubs like Dembele, Szmodics etc but will know nothing about most players we sign. Luckily we have a team in place at the club who are actually paid to know! That’s all that matters to me
