https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/15330859/fulham-steve-cooper-scott-parker-prem/ The bit I liked best was “…..Cooper would be ideal as he plays good football with young teams.”
One telling comment " after two fine seasons in charge of the Swans but the Eagles have ripped up their list and are now looking elsewhere for their manager."
Rumour in London is that the Cooper deal with Fulham is agreed - 3 year deal. He is due in London with his staff tomorrow to finalise the deal…
Swansea City will kick-off the 2021-22 Championship season with a trip to Lancashire to take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday, August 7. It will be the first time the clubs have met on the opening day of a league campaign since the 1956-57 season, when the Swans emerged 5-1 winners at the Vetch. The Swans will be searching for a first win at Ewood Park in 50 years, having drawn all three of their fixtures at the ground since returning to the Championship in 2018. Swansea have enjoyed a fine record in opening fixtures over recent years, last losing the first game of a league season in 2013 against Manchester United. The two South Wales derbies are set for October 16 and April 2, with the first of those taking place at the Liberty Stadium.
Not sure what to expect from the impending (soon!) season. You look at the fixtures and you realise what a tough division this is. Hopefully the club are working hard behind the scenes to line up a replacement for Coops. Whoever comes in won't have long to prepare the squad.
Apparently, Fulham will pay the Swans £3.5m. Noticed that Cooper isn’t mentioned in the Fixtures Press Release - he was in last year’s …..
So if Cooper does go has anyone been mentioned as a possible replacement. Howe was mentioned as part of the movements, just can’t see it. Will it be someone we know or another unknown. Any rumours
Can’t see Eddie Howe coming - not unless the Yanks have promised him (‘significant’) transfer funds. We will need someone who will have good contacts and who will be able to attract players.
So the fixtures are out and I just couldn't be less interested really. Not felt like this before but I seem to just have zero interest in what's happening. Maybe because the Euros are still on? I looked at the first fixture and closed the page - yawn.
No one specifically that I have heard - Toshack Jnr could be in with a shout because of his success in bringing young players through - but contacts and the ability to attract players ….?
