Genuinely can't think of one good thing (by which, I include a decent first touch) Sterling did. He literally ruined every attack he was involved in.
Shame really because he was playing very well not so long ago and I thought he could make a difference to the England team.
Don't be surprised if Southgate continues with 2 holding midfielders and churning out turgid football.
He's clearly bought into the idea that if you don't lose games you'll go far in tournaments. He keeps telling everyone that this is a tournament and he's playing tournament football.
I'm surprised he hasn't brought out the Greece example yet.
Problem is that the game has moved on from Greece and Mourinho type football (hence why Mourinho keeps getting sacked) and that England don't have the defence to keep good teams out to hold onto a 1-0.
It'd be fine bar the fact that he has pickford in goal who just falls over before the kicker strikes the ball.
Mings did fine last night. No issue. Stones was only alright
Still in the group...............just. Will have to beat the Krauts in the last gameWeren't hungry enough![]()
To be fair, Portugal won it last time by only winning one game within 90 minutes in the entire tournament (well done Wales), so there might be something in it.Don't be surprised if Southgate continues with 2 holding midfielders and churning out turgid football.
