Bastard !!!!!!Brian Close had a Golf handicap of 2 right-handed and 4 left-handed apparently.
Literally took the words from my mouth….I wish...
That’s a good effort. I always struggle getting it through the windmillI played off 3 in my heyday![]()
You'd be in illustrious company !Literally took the words from my mouth….
Hand over my left bollock for a 3 at every hole.
( definitely a joke there somewhere lol )
It got worse...Have you got enough money left for a mower Ron? Looks like it needs cutting!![]()
Great to see you're back on the road again mate. That bike looks awesomeDitched the Cannondale Synapse Carbon Fibre - it was making so many creaking noises from the bottom bracket and seat post it was causing me anxiety.
Gone with a titanium frame with a sensible 68mm threaded bottom bracket. Went out on it yesterday and it was less traumatising, now I only have to watch out for cars.
It also matches my titanium arm

Depends what you want to do on it really? If you want something that’ll do a bit of everything, I’d suggest a gravel bike. It’s like a road bike but you can get wider tyres to fit and you can then use it on gravel, tow paths, disused railways, roads etcIf I

What should I get mate?
My mate said a hybrid but no idea what that is
Flat bar hybrid, not a bad idea if your centre of Hull, gives you a upright view of traffic, cheaper for parts. Second hand might not be bad if you can find one thats not been used too much / bought with good intention (not nicked) & given up on. Post here if you find one for a second opinion. Mudguards are always a good option. If I

Which route? I’ve always wanted to do the transpennine trail from Southport to Hornsea. It was my intention to do that route and raise some money for HRI for the department that looked after my Mum in her last days. The car incident has delayed that somewhat, but will do that in the next 18 months I reckon. Need to get my fitness back up and improve my mental fragility around traffic.Completed a 2 day C2C on my version over the weekend. Now feeling a bit fatigued...

If you want a C2C to get your feel good factor back, my favourite so far was the Mallaig to Inverness route. The scenery is just breathtaking around every corner, and not plagued by heavy traffic for the most part either.![]()
Take your pick, walking's cheaper!If I

If you genuinely want to use it to get fit then I’d recommend anything with a really heavy steel frame, wide tyres, and slightly buckled wheels that rub on the brakes a couple of times every turn…and maybe cranks that are a bit misaligned and judder round unexpectedly to help build your core strengthIf I
