Well. Not sure what to make of that. Played well for 15 mins without creating or threatening much.
after that was a very meh game with both teams happy not to lose. One good run forward from Phillips created space abs for the goal.
Feel like this Croatia team aren’t anywhere near where they were 3 years ago.

Almost 100% in the last 16 now.
Would take a monumental **** up not to be.

Walker was unsurprisingly shocking. Get him out, move Trippier over and play Shaw. Much more balanced and better defensively too.
Or simply stop picking rubbish and play james and chilwell who are european champions and bang in form?
However phillips should ensure we see no sign of henderson in this tournament, so at least one position was not picked on rep.
Even sterling couldnt miss that final chance but at least he got "in" 4 times. Twice failed to even think to shoot, once an awful effort and the final one a child could score. But he made the runs which is important.

On Sterling i'm in the middle as thought he was just about the only player whose movement caused regular problems for the Croatian defence but his decision making / final ball was woeful .
He appeared totally lacking in confidence in the sense he seemed to be thinking what he should do instead of that instinctive decision .
