When Walter Winterbottom (I kid you not) was England manager he was in the position for years and had no previous managerial experience, yep none <laugh> He wasn't allowed to pick the team that was done by FA committee. England managed to go to South America with some of the best players in the world at the time and get knocked out by the USA who in those days hardly knew the rules. When you have witnessed the arrogance and ignorance of the FA time and time again and we manage to get to the 21st century and they pick ****ing Southgate following a glittering managerial career for Pizza Hut and Middlesbrough and then you here his sanctimonious nonsense. I know exactly why he was chosen. Then they all push the nice man as a great coach.

Sorry ...................... just **** Off

**** me ... @Spurf has only gone the full @Spurlock ... :bandit:

Started well but we’ve let the tempo drop off. Phillips has been good but we need some more dynamism in the team. Appreciate it’s hot out there but need to play it a bit quicker.

The ball over the top has been good for us but you can't just rely on that and we are at the moment. Mount and Foden need to be looking to get the ball deeper and earlier because there's not much we're offering at the moment. Whether Croatia are playing for the 0-0 or whether they're planning to target the last half-hour I'm sure we'll see them commit more numbers in midfield at somepoint, it's a looming threat that they can really start to control things if they choose to.

Not having his finest game <laugh>

Think him and Trippier are in this game for experience, on merit it would be Shaw and James surely.
Shaw’s an attacking full back who gets forward and puts crosses into the box. That wouldn’t fit with the way he’s deployed Sterling in the first half. Trippier is a better defender too.

James has played well recently and is a good defender, but Walker has all the experience.

Feel like we’ve seen enough now. Phillips has been good but I’d take him off, drop Mount in beside Rice and get Grealish out on the pitch.

Got the win, that'll do. Surprised Croatia didn't really offer much after the goal but 3 points puts us in a great position for the next 2 group games.

Turns it was genius!!! Did anyone see that performance from Calvin Phillips coming MOTM for sure - Mings also had his best game for England.

The number 9 was poor though and was rightly hooked

Nah, Croatia were just starting to look like they were coming into it at the start of the second half. It wasn't that impressive but it was a decent performance and the team's that start a tournament really well often end up fading.

Conclusion: It's coming home.
Not to my home it's not <laugh> I will be interested to try and find a decent report on the game. But Kane making little or no impact suggests the usual crap from Sterling. Trouble is the media are obsessed with him so hard to trust the reports.
