This isn't boxing, it's just an extension of celebrity behalf streaming culture.
Mayweather retired from boxing years ago. He didn't retire from making money, though.
If he butchered one of these ****bags, then he wouldn't get any more cash grabs. His fights were dull for years, anyway.
This ^^^

Mayweather called it legalised bank robbery before the fight ffs.

It wasn’t a sanctioned fight, so it was off the record, there was a huge difference in height and weight and it was nothing more than an exhibition bout. If people are daft enough to pay for it, then more fool them, but it doesn’t reflect on the current state of the sport, which imo is currently great, albeit I think Hearn’s decision to go down the DAZN route will prove to be misjudged on his behalf.

Uysk is going to batter Joshua

He struggled to get past Chisora mate, and plenty thought he didn’t.

Technically he’s the better boxer, but I think Joshua will have the power, speed and combination punches to see him off.

Maybe. Not sure what I'm doing later. Card's a bit ****: https://boxrec.com/en/event/834529
Is Ponce any good? Only two fights outside of Argentina, but he's won all of them and he's got 17 KOs in 28. Could be a banana skin.

No idea, haven't seen him before, Ritson was lucky in his last fight though to get the decision

Yep, standard Sky non PPV card

Ritson is always decent value to watch, but he’s far too easy to hit imo, which is why he won’t break into the World level.

Doesn't fancy fighting Taylor, according to Eddie Hearn. Probably not surprising.

He'd obviously get beaten easily but would have thought it could be a good payday for him, although Taylor's last fight wasn't promoted at all over here which was crazy
It wasn't just not promoted, it wasn't televised! So much dross gets shown and that gets relegated to a FITE stream.
That's always the issue with US cards, though. The European viewing figures are virtually non-existent, unless it's a massive, massive fight.

That’s about to change with the new Sky deal agreed yesterday.

Hearn has defo ****ed up imo, as he’s opened the door for the other promoters to take the terrestrial and satellite TV audiences.

I think he probably sees that as an opportunity, though. Getting some Mexican boxing on Sky will be good for him, I think.
If the DAZN thing works out and some other promoters start pushing boxing on terrestrial TV, then it's good for the sport and great for him.
Saw this earlier and it's quite funny, if nothing else:

Sneaky dig at the Fury camp and it's quite amusing watching him slag off things that he'd have happily promoted, even if he is right about them.

If the boxing public gets its fix from existing channels on the current platforms without extra cost, I think it’s really bad news for him tbph. He had a virtual monopoly on top level UK boxing and was getting heavily subscribed PPV cards for events that didn’t really warrant the cost, he was winning due to accessibility, and he was making millions out of it, his move is about greed and he’s made the assumption that the public will follow & that his competitors won’t be able to fill the void. I make him wrong.

DAZN will announce their new pricing next month btw, safe to say it’ll be going up.

And I think it all depends on what it goes up to. If they price it right, then I think it'll work. Overprice it and it'll be a disaster.

There's a spoiler in the title, if anyone wants to watch it without knowing what happened.
