Bending the knee in itself is harmless enough. Its the fist in the air that gives it a more politically supremacist edge. Hence why it shouldnt be seen in a sports stadium. Somebody needs to get their heads together and distance these protests away from BLM and come up with a slogan less dominant because BLM will always have loose links to violent activism, particularly after the unrest during the fairly recent protests. I myself would gladly bend a knee if it had an obvious link to an anti racism group and something that would help towards equal rights to everybody. I would not bend a knee in support of a movement which are, as a majority, largely peaceful, but one which undoubtedly has a minority of violent activists or of people who only focus their policies onto the wellbeing of one group. I'm sure alot of those who boo, or are against BLM, are not like that because they are racist, they are against them because they are against the methods being used by BLM in getting their message across. For example, having a dance by a dance group mimicking a murder on prime time television, before the perp had the benefit of a trial, is pathetic, just wrong. The fact that it has now won a BAFTA is an outrage. It should never have been done, but to win an award!!?. Its stuff like this being thrusted in our faces that is more likely to divide us further than bring us together. Many arms of this movement are constantly saying things and exposing us all to their methods and beliefs. Methods of which, if the roles were reversed and being made by any other racial group or organisation, would be unacceptable, would be, dare I say it, racist? However they are getting away with it because it is now being done under the protection of some sort of BLM umbrella. And also the fact that, because I feel like this, in alot of peoples eyes I will instantly be accused of being a racist. I'm not a racist, I'm just irritated.
On another note, I think BLM need to focus on getting their own house in order first. When a leading member of their organisation is shot in the head by a black kid in a gang related incident?! They need to be seen to be stamping down on the many incidents like this as well as to be seen blaming the rest of society for their injustices and turmoil. They should be seen as fighting a war on two fronts, but we are only being exposed to their fight on one. If they are shown to be fighting their war on two fronts, then they may get more support from the rest of society and we may not hear any booing at football matches.

We are now focusing on wrecking or getting rid of old statues of slave traders. Wonder when we will get around to disposing of all those Roman ones. They were good at slavery I'm led to believe.

In 1807, the UK Parliament passed the Bill that abolished the trading of slaves. The King of Bonny (now in Nigeria) was horrified at the conclusion of the practice:

'We think this trade must go on. That is the verdict of our oracle and the priests. They say that your country, however great, can never stop a trade ordained by God himself.'

Kapernick didn't actually kneel, he sat the first time during the national anthem as an individual protest against inequality, police brutality etc. Afterwards he started kneeling.

BLM have seized this and the "taking of the knee" is quite often accompanied by the raised fist, a symbol of rascism itself.

No problem with taking the knee, but personally speaking, I think it looks naff. Combined with a fist in the air, it looks more defiant. But that has distant links to political groups like Black Power, so it shouldnt be shown on a football pitch.
I dont mind a one off protest, or a protest lasting a few weeks, or an annual protest. But having it rammed down our throats before every game? Something that doesnt have widespread support from all races? Its always gonna get on peoples tits. Its time now to stop continuously protesting like this and to start doing things to improve the lives of those oppressed. Tired of people saying 'something needs to change' but I never hear anybody telling us how to change it. Until something is done, rather than footballers being emotionally blackmailed or forced into taking a knee, the booing will only continue.

I believe there are very few parts of the world in which slavery hasn't occurred at one time or another. The Domesday Book makes reference to slaves. They were an integral and numerically significant part of society in the Anglo-Saxon period. I think the issue of slavery, and when and where it occurred, detracts from the issue of racism though.

I think its probably the words of alot of people, words that people like me would like to get out there. I'd love to put my name to it but I'd be worried of being branded racist ('only a racist would think like that'). One of the biggest racial injustices in society at the minute is people branding people racist (or any sort of -ist) without any proof but only basing it on the the fact that they are in disagreement. For Example, Megan Markle gets bad press cos she's black. Maybe? Or is it because she's not a pleasant person. God knows? Nobody knows, so it must be because she's black.
A man dies on the street resisting arrest due to a ****ing idiot copper kneeling on his neck for frigging ages. Was the policeman racist? Possibly, but we dont know, he could be just an idiot, who deserved the sentence he was given by the way. Did he die because he was black? Or because he was resisting arrest? We dont know, so it must have been because he was black and because the copper was racist. All hell breaks loose!
If you query as to whether these two events have anything to do with racism, even just raising the question, you risk getting bombarded by claims of being a racist yourself. Which for me, an act in itself, is equally as -ist as any kind of -ism being readily thrown about nowadays.
Piers Morgan slagged that Japanese tennis player for skipping post match interviews due to her mental health. I agree with him. If she's well enough to play tennis, then shes well enough to do interviews, its part and parcel of her occupation. And I am someone who suffers from mental health problems. But I still go to work and do my job. I cant say to my boss 'I like doing the engineering drawings, but I dont like putting together the documentation, it makes me really anxious, so I'm not going to do it, but can you pay me the same?' I'd be booted out of the door. I have no problems with the tennis player raising her concerns about any negative treatment thrown her way at these press conferences, but to just blankly refuse to do them is an insult to her profession and her fellow players. If she has to stop doing these press conferences because of her mental health then she has to stop playing tennis as well. Like all jobs, you cant pick and choose what you want to do but expect your colleagues to do everything and still expect the same pay at the end of the day. If you dont like a certain part of your job to the point of mental anguish you pack your job in.
Anyways, Piers Morgan has been labelled 'Sexist' because of having a similar view. I cant find any reasoning why the persons sex has come into it, but because it happens to be a woman, its sexist. And if you raise the question that the players sex doesnt come into it, then that makes you sexist too.

Its like a global pandemic that puts Covid-19 to shame. Everybody getting labelled at some point by some twat you dont even know. The internet has a lot to answer for.
