How many rugby players are there in the world? There is 1.440.000 icehockey players.

Impossible to say really! The last estimate I saw a couple of years ago was, given that the sport is played in 120 countries around the world, 10,000,000, give or take a few :)

Quite how they arrived at that figure, I have no idea, but it is very popular in the southern hemisphere. It's been about 3 decades since I last played competitively, but not that long since I played in a Masters Tournament in the Gold Coast in Queensland - where my age allowed me to wear purple shorts (meaning that no-one could tackle me!) - in which there were over 100 teams from around the world.

So the purple shorts matched your bloodshot eyes<laugh> That is a fair amount of teams from around the globe<yikes>

How did you know? <laugh> Our interpretation of the regular drinks rule was slightly different - we started the game with a shot of port and after each scoring move, our drinks waiter would run on clad in tuxedo and carrying a silver tray full with more port shots. We'd be half drunk by full time and use the between games break as the opportunity to sober up before starting again. Memorable weekend!

Also feel no pain, I must admit I do miss the Hockey festivals, went to a couple in Holland. Well there is photographic evidence of my attendance, not much memory of it though:) Just a very drunken haze<laugh>

um **** ;)

lost 2-1 boooooo, still bottom :(

But a positive Derek McInnes may be our next manager soon, god knows why he'd want to come here with players who only can be bothered to pick up their wages lol
