I’d imagine valuations have so many variables in football.
Length of contract remaining, wage, form of player, overall quality of player, HG status or not, media reputation & marketability, age, the loss of selling club’s merchandise sales via losing the player plus the potential value of merchandise sales to the club buying the player, status of player to a club and its fans, status of player to their national team... There’s probably more I’m not thinking of (it is gone midnight!).
Taking Kane from Spurs will be bigger than when Madrid took Bale. He means a lot more to us than Bale did and Bale was someone more or less worshipped. A player who comes through the ranks and becomes the club’s (and country’s) poster boy is something you’ll probably only see every 50+ years and that’s if you’re lucky.
