Did the fishermen know what they were voting for, or the farmers, or businessmen in Northern Ireland, or anyone who believed the bullshit on the bus? The fishermen will do well over time. British farmers will evolve to produce higher quality products and be subsidised to be custodians of the countryside, much needed. NI needs compromise on both sides to work. It's not racist or xenophobic to want to trade globally instead of in the closed shop that is the EU.

Protests were held outside Batley Grammar School after the teacher showed an image during a religious studies lesson in March. An independent investigation found the teacher did not intend to cause offence by showing the image. The school said it would offer more guidance and training for staff. The image was shown on more than one occasion to students during lessons earlier this year, the investigation found. More stories from across Yorkshire Demonstrators gathered outside the school gates on two occasions, with some calling for the teacher to be sacked. In an executive summary of the report, the trust said teaching staff "genuinely believed that using the image had an educational purpose and benefit". But the trust said it recognised that using the image did cause "deep offence" to a number of students, parents and members of the school community, adding that it "deeply regrets the distress" caused. 'Suspensions lifted' A spokeswoman for the Batley Multi Academy Trust said the school would put the recommendations from the report "into practice immediately". She added: "The findings are clear, that the teaching staff involved did not use the resource with the intention of causing offence, and that the topics covered by the lesson could have been effectively addressed in other ways. "In the light of those conclusions, the suspensions put in place while the investigation was under way will now be lifted." The National Education Union said it was "pleased the correct decision has been reached" following the lifting of the suspension. A Department for Education spokesperson said parents, families and the local community should "welcome and support the trust's comprehensive plan to strengthen its oversight of the curriculum". However, in a statement, Batley Parents and Community Partnership (BPCP), said while they "acknowledge and welcome the lessons learnt" they were "disappointed at the lack of clarity, transparency and rationale behind some of the findings". The statement said "given the background of this caricature", the report "fails to address how it is possible that teachers were unaware of the offence it would cause". The group also claimed representatives were supposed to have "played an active role" in the investigation and drafting of the report, something it said "didn't transpire". The statement added that parents and the wider community needed to "come together calmly" to review the next steps.
I'd say the veracity of Cummings's testimony was pretty much confirmed today by the lack of significant rebuttal from Johnson or Hancock, particularly over care homes. 'Look over there, a vaccine!'

Sorry for my late reply Femi but it was sunny yesterday and I enjoyed a nice day out. I don’t know where to start with your conceited rant? However I will try and answer a few points. I would add if the ‘remain’ campaign had explained things better rather other than saying ‘everyones first born will be blind’ if we leave, then things may have been different. It was a cr2p campaign that used project fear. Blame your antisemite mate Jezza as well. That idiot actually confused voters ffs. So before you blame slogans on buses look a little nearer to home. You can’t accept a democratic result and you belittle voters. Cameron actually thought that holding a referendum was the right thing to do. He believed that the British public should be given a say on the EU as he felt the “institution had changed beyond recognition”. I have just recently read his views on the subject. Remember the ‘non non non’. When we joined the EEC in 1973 we're the people told then how integrated the EU would become... No. they just had a … yes/no vote. Yet when we want to leave you think a yes/no vote is not good enough (and that the public doesn’t understand because they are all thick uneducated gammons). Many deals like Maastricht treaty were sneaked in without having a vote. Where was our say then? That wasn’t what they told us before was it? How the EU have acted since December should prove to most decent people what they are really all about. The Swiss are the latest to see it. Spend 5 minutes of your precious time and read up on it. I understand you and a few others will not accept the result and will keep trying to run this country down. As I have said before if you don’t like this country and how we run it, then F’off to Europe or China and bore them with your cr2p.
