Played football for them a long time agoPreferred durty nellys mind. Now that was a pub
Still cannot understand why the wall hasn’t fallen down or what the **** is keeping it up lol. Still very much open, darkest pub I’ve ever been in...did a poetry open mic night in there, lot of purple haired veggies in the audience. It was open couple of years ago, cracking pub and cheap beer.
Don’t forget the candlesRemember the 2 ladies well - quite old when I started going in there. Recall a wooden table with a wooden bowl on it full of water where they rinsed out the used glasses and poured the next orders from the big jug. Don't recall them drying the glasses mind. Happy days.
I drink in a variety of establishmentsWetherspoon's drinkers aren't exactly connoisseurs with a fine pallette.

Over here in Lincs I'm surrounded by Sam Smiths pubs; in the days before I knew better I used to drink lager, the Sam Smiths stuff, Alpine Ayingerbrau, would have me chundering no matter how little of the bastard stuff I supped - it was terrible gear; thing is, those hardened to Smiths ales won't drink anywhere else and can't understand how anyone could dislike it!
Yeah. They call him ‘Sam’ over in West Yorkshire.I assume you mean Humphrey Smith, as Sam Smith died over 200 years ago.
He's fairly eccentric, they banned music, TV's and mobile phones from all their pubs.

Can't see how to change my name so I'm stuck with it now. The admiral is bloody awful.
Seem to remember a lot of Batemans on that side of the river, reasonable ales if i remember right.
I fancy opening an Aston Martin garage, I've got no idea how to run an Aston Martin garage and I haven't got the money to open a dealership, but I really fancy owning one. If anyone would like to contribute, just let me know and I'll PM you my PayPal details, thanks.
I used to go for a few games of pool in Bluebell when I was in my 20s. I vaguely recall the pilsner was drinkable if a little bit salty. The base lager was piss, but not as bad as when you bought it in Spiders. That lager was truly awful. As are 99% of British brewed lagers.
I know fan groups who used that ruse and bought Portsmouth, AFC Wimbledon and Swansea.I remember recently a fans group using that same ruse to try and buy into a football club.
Sam Smith often goes around drinking in his own pubs, by chauffeur. If he hears any swearing, he personally throws you out and bans you from entering a Sam Smith establishment.
