I first attended my very first Hull Tigers game when Hull Tigers played their very first game at the KC Stadium.

I can't actually remember who Hull Tigers played that day, because I wasn't there.

My first away game was at Warrington. I did like their shirts, but I can't remember what colour they were.

By the way, just for the cheese fans, I resently discovered Manchego cheese. It's very nice indeed :emoticon-0125-mmm:
Are you prone to suffering from Habromania on a regular basis? And watch what you're doing with that Manchego cheese,it can cause Halitosis.:emoticon-0100-smile

Heinous my arse...

Moving from the plastic debate, my son in law announced he is getting a pass for the new season. He's not a die hard, but has had passes before. He tags onto some friends who are die hards and have restarted going after boycotting, I believe when evicted from E1. Apparently he's one of a few 'not so' diehards in a group of over a dozen who are buying passes. I asked what had changed for those boycotting, he wasn't actually sure but said for him it was a post Covid effect, just wanting to do something with mates after a period of not been able. Obviously that's just one case, but it has got me wondering if membership will rise next season (compared to pre Covid).
He actually claims he is a Liverpool supporter, and no he can't come up with any legitimate reason for supporting Liverpool. I definitely see problems ahead when they start having kids!

I mentioned on our podcast recently that, not to downplay the issues with the owners, COVID has surely shown for those who have the means to attend, that perhaps life's too short to deny yourself something you love for purely stubborn reasons. Even if it's as simple as reconnecting with people you haven't seen in over a year, going to live sport is a fantastic experience so many are needlessly denying themselves in the hope that it will push the owners out.

It feels a little bit demeaning, when you're making a stand and you're standing by your principles, only to be told you're just being stubborn.

But hey, you crack on with that mate.

The combination of promotion and the fact that nobody's been able to attend for over a year, is obviously going to have a significant positive effect on attendances next season, assuming there's no limits on numbers.

I don't think anyone who's refusing to attend at the moment is doing so because they think it will push the owners out.

He did...one of his hypocritical recent posts on the "transfer" thread:

"... but calling someone a ****ing idiot for making a reasoned point is a bit over the top. You can disagree with them without getting personal."

Next he'll be offering marriage guidance councelling. :emoticon-0100-smile

Exactly, I have an opinion like everyone, but I don't expect everyone to agree with me. It's a shame that some will get angry about other people's opinions rather than just listen, consider and take it or leave it.

I will defend the point although, it isn't the point I was actually making, my last post showed two things, firstly, that empty stands are now filled with cut out plastic pictures of supporters and secondly, that the use of the term appears to be acceptable to the FSA, who I am also a member of.

I have not used the term "Plastic" to describe any supporter in my post. I have not called any supporter a plastic and as far as I know have never implied that in any of my posts. I think you have over reacted.

But I will answer your assumption. I am against football tourism, the sale of tickets to games that are not to genuine supporters, but to visitors from other countries or cities. Sitting in a stand with tourists who do not know that it is Chelsea vs Hull City and they were in the away support, was perhaps one of the worse games that I ever went too. But, some football clubs love to sell tickets to that market. Now if you find the term "Plastic" offensive when used to describe visitors to stadiums, who deprive genuine supporters access to games, fair enough. The money shifted from corporate into tourism in smaller PL clubs.

There is a difference that has to be made, genuine football supporters who live abroad for instance and take a game in. I have nothing against that. It is when a game is part of the tour itinerary that is a problem if genuine supporters then cannot get a ticket.
Agree with the tourists bit but the reason there were tickets to sell to tourists is because our own supporters didn't buy up our full allocation. Or people pretending to be City fans buying tickets for the big games, especially during our first season in the Prem, and selling them on. I know that happened v Arsenal when we won 2-1 because a group of them were sat behind me and I asked them. It annoyed me at the time because two mates I had travelled with had to buy tickets in the Arsenal end off touts. But that's the Premier League for you.

Is councelling the same as what we call counselling back in Blighty?

Fair enough if there's some other reason, but everyone keeps saying it's not this, not that, and I've said before, you do you, it's just a shame you're denying yourself joy as a result. Didn't mean anything else by it.

Oh so some are doing it to hurt the Allams and try to get rid of them. That's fine too mate, you do you.

Why do you keep claiming that anyone who's not going is trying to hurt the Allams to get rid of them?

They obviously want the Allams gone, but people aren't daft enough to think that just them not going is going to have any effect on when the Allams will leave.

I don't drink at a Weatherspoons pub, as think the owner Tim Martin is an utter ****, but I don't expect me not drinking there will have any effect on him at all.

Not wanting to put money in the pockets of people you despise doesn't mean you think your boycott will have any tangible effect on them. Like OLM said, some people don't drink in Wetherspoons because they dislike the owner but they don't seriously think their boycott will affect him.

I payed the £10 for each iFollow game because I bought into the 'support your club, not illegal streams' thing but I still understand if people didn't even want to pay that, especially after the membership debacle.

Likewise, I don't think Scousers refuse to buy the Sun because they think their boycott will have any real effect on News Corps profits...
