I'll knock their ability though, both awful today. Crazy result and gives us a chance thankfully. Robbed them blind though

they are a liability for sure but right now, we have no other options so we need to support them. We are finishing the season on bare bones. Any more injuries and we’re screwed.

Yeah. They are what they are - you can't knock someone for the level of ability they're given. It's all about the effort to make the best of that ability, and they're both trying their damnedest in a situation they shouldn't really be in.

Fortunately not had the displeasure of hearing Robbie Savage for many many months, listening to the BBC post-match reaction is a painful reminder of how much of an utterly utterly utterly annoying simpleton he really is

indeed they are <ok>
If, last season when we were walking the league with Virgil and Gomez/Matip, we'd been told that this year we'd be having to field Phillips and Williams together we'd have just laughed hysterically.
It's been an extraordinary season, and the fact that we're still in with a good shout of 4th whilst having to resort to those two lads is an achievement in itself.

Just have to give a little.special.mention to Phillips. Absolutely bang average today but he ran and ran and tried till the death.

He was trying more than others who were subbed on honestly.

It was him that was closest to the header that Alisson scored. Might have scored the winner himself if Alisson didn't come up for it.

His defensive headers are good, but he can't hit the proverbial barn door in the other box, even though he gets on them a lot. This is one area of his game that could be improved upon with coaching.

I just hope this is a kick in the arse they need to realise that the performance isn't good enough.
Thiago today was excellent and with a full strength team next year hopefully he'll be able to show us more of the same because without doubt he's a class act.

I don’t think the performance was as bad as people are making out, we were never going to be creating a handful of 1 on 1’s here - it was going to be very tough to create clear cut chances and when we did we blazed them over the bar.

We will cough up a couple of chances ourselves because we are playing with 2 CB’s that are not at the standard we’ve come to expect.

All in all, we battled, kept going and got the result by hook or by crook.

2 to go

Performance after the first 10 mins was decent. Thiago was very good again, the main threat and set the tempo.

More clinical side and could have conceded couple more. Worrying how easy it was for them to get in behind though. With TAA and Robbo pushed on that ball in behind was on so often but it is what it is.
